Little Story I had to Share with Someone

    I just watched "The Summer Man" and absolutely cracked up when Faye was talking about her father owning a candy shop and all of the responsibilities that come with that. (That's a reference to the mafia for anyone who didn't get it.)


    The reason I found this so funny was that my great grandmother (a little Irish lady) owned a candy store in Jersey City, New Jersey (Not too far from NYC) in the 60's. She too had "responsibilities". Namely she ran numbers for a man named Black Mike. He was Italian, but he had black hair. So that line was like just a little piece of family history. I'm sure no one else really cares, but I just felt like sharing. :-)

    No, it's perfectly fine. I think this says a lot about the attention to detail that Matt Weiner et al. have for the time period. Being a child of the '90s, I generally have to assume that "Mad Men" plays it right.
