Mad Men Season 6 Premiere Review: The Jumping Off Point

The darkness that permeated Mad Men's fifth season doesn't appear to be dissipating, even though the firm itself appeared to be flourishing when we caught up with Don, Joan, Roger and the others in the days leading up to New Year's Eve 1968.

I don't know why but I wasn't very satisfied with the first half of the premier. But the second part really got me going. DEATH played a huge part in the premier, we saw Don dwell on the idea and Roger deal with it in reality. It was surprising to see Roger loose it when his shoe shiner person died (lol) but I guess that was his breaking point.

Penny looks like an experienced executive now, looking back at her days working as a secretary for Don is unimaginable, shes come so far. I guess working through new years with out realising it demonstrates her determination.

The introduction of sideburns was just too hilarious, Pete and Harry couldn't have looked weirder. All in all a great second half. Cant wait for more.moreless
