Scaly children, exploding trucks and a mythical creature

It's closer to the solstice and the fantasia must cross the lake to get to Solis. But their tour guides turn against them and Ozul and Maska arrive. However, the "talisman" comes to the rescue from the taniwha and Timon begins to show his true colours- green!

I never expected this to happen! It's brother against brother, monster against children, and of course, circus against futuristic robots! Everything that happens in this is thrilling and heart pumping but it also has the series funniest quote!

"Let's get this over with and kill them all now"

  • Neatly done.

I didn't see much of it, but what I saw was good. Timon's despair and self-loathing was brilliantly acted, as was the scene where the Fantasia decide Timon's fate- particularly the twists at the end. This is really the reason why I watched the series- episodes like this. A brilliant job all round.

    • Simon Bennett coments on the Location of the Lake:

The lake sequence in episode 12 was probably the most difficult location. We were either going to have to shoot this sequence in a real lake (dangerous and time-consuming), build a pool in the studio (space-consuming, expensive and difficult from an engineering point of view), or convert (black out) a swimming pool (expensive).

We rewrote the scripts so there was less 'on-the water' material, and opted for a school swimming pool as the lake. This was blacked out and lined with black material and ended up working very well - particularly as it was heated.
