Solis
AIRED:
With only one day left to reach Solis, chances of success for Solis seem non-existent. The Fantasia have no trucks, and thus no way of making it in time. Bannister, however, returns to the Fantasia, and is able to lend Maddie and Yves his van. They now have the opportunity to make it to Solis, but on arrival, they meet a Duke of Solis, who will later on become the Nennog. What will come of them? What has happened to Jewel? Has Timon really been stopped? Is it all too late for Solis?

    ---MY FULL SUMMARY---

Getting to Solis with no trucks seems impossible with the clock ticking and only one day left to prevent the rise of the Nennog and save the future. However luck is on their side and their chances are increased when Bannister shows up in a van to rejoin the fantasia. Maddie and Yves arrive at Solis in the van and when it seems like nothing can go wrong they meet the Duke of Solis who will become the Nennog. What will happen? Will the Solar converter get fitted so Timon can be cured? And just who is the silver girl?

    ---MY OPINION---

10/10 This is a Super episode possibly the best out of the series. It gives the answer to so many questions and is full of suspense. I don’t see how anyone could dislike this episode. This episode answers the one question that everyone has been asking since episode 1: who is the silver girl?moreless
  • The end is here!

Even though it's the end, you just want to know what happens!

After the bombings, the fantasia get help from an old friend to get into Solis. But Ozul and Maska still want Timon, who claims he has "reformed", yet Boomer is still uncertain about the mutant boy. And when the Duke of Solis seems to have turned against everyone, Garland, Maddie, Yves and the others have to battle it out to save the city!

Wow, I was blown away by the final. Timon was an excellent actor in this episode and it was good to see Bannister again and have all questions answered. Though I prefer the book ending better.moreless

    • Zane Holmes coments on the Solar Complex:

In the centre of Solis is a tower which contains what we called the "Powerhouse", which is about 350m up the tower. In the centre of the power house sits the Solar converter – a device that is incredibly efficient at turning concentrated light into electricity. The power it generates is channelled down a high capacity cable directly from the centre of the power house to the Earth below not touching the tower itself on the way down.

The light that supplies the Solar Converter comes from five Solar arrays that sit upon smaller towers in a semi circle to the north of the main tower. Each array is highly manoeuvrable and can act as either a reflector when the sun is in front of the array or a refractor when behind. Each array focuses the light it catches onto a device called the Solar Collector which is a group of precision mirrors whose job it is to catch all the beams coming from the solar arrays, and reflect them straight down onto the Solar Converter, which lies rotating in its cradle directly below.

    • The song sang by Timon was Keep a Light On by Dave Dobbyn, from the album The Islander - New Zealand. This was the only piece of music not specifically written for the show, with the idea being that hundreds of years in the future, after the Great Chaos, this song might be considered a classic.
