Some spooks are rising in this thrilling episode of Maddigan's Quest!

The fantasia arrive in a Swamptown, a village run by a witch finder who has creatures to help intimadating the villagers into believing her. Unfortunatley, Eden and Goneril are suspected of witch craft and are going to be dunked! Now it's up to Garland, Timon and Boomer to find out the witch finders secrets, which reside in her dark tower.

For an episode that should be scary, it wasn't really to my liking. The willo-wisps were badly done and some other things weren't original. There was some good special effects that caught my attention, but not much!moreless

    • Zane Holmes comments on the Willo Wisps:

These were basically all done practically (i.e. they were filmed for real with no post production trickery). We found tall dancers and placed them in costumes on dollies (platforms with wheels) and then pushed them along tracks so they looked like they were gliding smoothly. We discovered after the shoot that we needed some extra close-ups of them when they attacked Timon and Garland, those shots we had to do on blue-screen because the set of the tower interior had already been pulled down. We took shots of them on blue-screen and keyed them into plates of the tower interior.

There is one shot of them outside where they are first seen by the townspeople in daylight, where we duplicated them in post production to give the appearance of there been more than the two that they had time to shoot.

    • Like Eden, Zac is a magician, and is a member of the Young Magicians Club in the UK, but no-one knew that at his audition. The coin trick in Witchfinder he does for real, no camera tricks.
