Maggie (1969)

Show Summary

Maggie is a daily chat show featuring Maggie Tabberer, well-known Australian fashion icon and television personality, and broadcast in 1969 by Seven Network. Maggie Tabberer became a household name through her regular appearances on panel talk show Beauty and the Beast, in which viewers would write in asking for advice on personal problems. Her popularity as a panelist led to Maggie Tabberer, better known as Maggie T, hosting her own daily magazine show, simply called Maggie. She won two consecutive Gold Logies for the program, and was voted most popular female personality in Australia. Maggie originally ran daily every afternoon from 1969 to 1970. In the show, Maggie Tabberer demonstrated the trademark grace, warmth, wit, and sophisticated style that had already cemented her reputation as one of Australia's most loved, most photographed and most talked about women in the country. Maggie Tabberer started modeling at the age of 14, and after a long and successful career in modeling, publishing, and television, she has become part of the national consciousness of Australia, considered by many to be the Unofficial Queen of Australia.
