Currently the 2 reviews written by women don't paint a pretty picture. I'm sure we can guess why, without getting into it. Anyway, what do we really think about the show? I'm talking top-shelf ***** on display (and more), the convertible car ride, the attitude and the drama.
A quick look at the complaints tells me that some people don't get that with the period setting comes the dialog (and the plot), because this is the pre-internet era; when gangsters didn't go to high school to learn stories other than the frog and the scorpion (and sure as hell couldn't Google it).
Anyway I wished I were Stevie, fell in love with Olga Vera (just now, since her 007 was meh; especially after Casino Royal) and remembered when my dad sits down with me like Ike towards the end.
The "intro and the outro," dream and reality (?), awesome! I can't grade the show yet, until it has moved away from the pilot, but my preliminary one would be an easy 8-9.
