Magnum, P.I.

Season 7 Episode 17

Aired Unknown Feb 11, 1987 on CBS

  • Trivia

    • This episode contradicts Magnum's age. In previous episodes (such as the fourth season's "Letter To A Duchess", originally broadcast in November 1983), he was said to be 38 years old, which means that here he should have been at least 41 years old. Dates elsewhere in the series suggest that he should be at least 43 in this episode.

  • Quotes

    • Magnum: (narrating) My grandfather was one of the world's great collectors. He collected souvenirs, stamps, and friends, but his prized collection was a stack of uncirculated currency: all silver certificates, all two-dollar bills. On my 13th birthday, he gave me one of them and told me to read the serial number. It was my birthdate, and in time it became my "Lucky Two". I'd carried it with me ever since… until last night.

  • Notes

    • The German episode titles are "Mit 40 ist alles vorbei" ("At 40, Everything Is Over") and "Der vierzigste Geburtstag" ("Fortieth Birthday"). The French title is "Quarante ans", an exact translation. Originally unaired in Italy, it was not shown until 2009 and not given an Italian title.

    • The title of this episode is seen bottom-center screen, as opposed to the regular bottom-left.
