Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful

Show Summary

The 2nd [and last] season of "Mahoromatic: Automatic Maiden" continues the story of a combat android, "Mahoro" who was built by a secret organization called "Vesper" to protect earth from aliens. After years of fighting, she decides to live out the rest of her days as a maid, mainly to overcompensate for the guilt she has over her years of fighting. "~Something More Beautiful~" is a season of change, with not only Mahoro discovering she has a sister, but in terms of story, the series becomes more daring, and, no longer beats around the bush with the sexual innuendos. This season draws to a close one of the greatest and most popular animes of recent years.

  • This is the second season of Mahoromatic. It leaves off about a week or so after the end of the first season. It also introduces a new group, Management, as the new antagonist.moreless

This season was a little harder to watch. Not because it was written poorly or the animation was bad, because it wasn't. It was harder to watch because of Mahoro's dwindling days left remaining alive. The Christmas, New Years, and Valentie's Day episodes were the hardest to watch.

It really is a tearjerker but, it is also funny and an endearing series.

The ending can be a little confusing. *** SPOILER ALERT ***

20 years after Mahoro dies, Matthew, the controlling inteligence of Saint, decides to leave earth we see that it resembles Mahoro. It recreates Mahoro with all the memories she, Mahoro, had (there was a connection that was alluded to in an earlier episode). This Mahoro is created on a human colony planet that Suguru is on. Suguru, now 33 years old, has become a Management android hunter. He gets injured and, while waiting for a doctor to open shop, is eating at a noodle stand. Mahoro finds him; he thinks she is the Grim Reaper, talking to the noodle shop owner about how he doesn't like to think about his time on Earth. When he realises that it really is Mahoro, she says, "Let's go home". Then Suguru turns into what he looked like at 14 and there is a "flashback" of all the characters when they were younger talking about things. The last scene is Mahoro and Suguru, once again 33, standing arm-in-arm at the end of an alley.moreless
  • Awesome Show. It has a Fabulous, let me repeat that, It has a Fabulous storyline.

This was a great series. The first season was just awesome. It has everything that an anime needs; it had sad moments, fighting, blood, passion, and comedy, but those are just a few. What takes the cake, I guess, is the storyline. One of the best I’ve seen so far. Made me little teary-eyed at some moments. The second season, at first, seem stupid because they added in a new character the kept apologizing. It started to tick me off, but alas she stopped and started to act right. The second to last episode was to me a great ending, but then the final episode came and confused me greatly. So even though it had its bad moments it is still one of my favorite series.moreless
