EDIT
Sight of spring? The two's hearts are in warm feeling!!
AIRED:
It's the day that Godai's graduation exam results are announced. The tenants of Ikkoku-kan get ready for a "too-bad" party for Godai. The banner reads: "Too Bad, Don't Cry, Godai-kun!!! You still have next year!" After leaving the college for the last time, Godai visits Shienomi day care's principal to get a reference to get a job at some day care. After Godai leaves the principal tries to pick up a box and breaks his back.

At the cabaret, Godai's boss throws a cerebration party. Godai tries to call Ikkoku-kan twice in vain (nobody in Ikkoku-kan could hear the ring, because they are too busy partying). After he comes back, he proudly announces that he graduated, to the surprise of the tenants.moreless

  • Another great episode!

It looks like the episodes where Godai is a spineless wimp always running into badluck and making half assed excuses to Kyoko are finally over. The episode makes some real strides in the actual love relationship with Kyoko and Godai. How it covered Kyoko's dead husband Souichiro did it really well; in the harsh truth spoken by Akemi. How it ends just concludes the episode perfectly. Almost sad to see such a great relationship only starting to spice up at the tail end of this anime. The episode from top to bottom is just full of quality; Akemi's hard knock truth, Godai getting politely rejected a job and then getting one before the episode ends, making out--perhaps having sex?--with Kyoko, and of course although it doesn't follow the same route past episodes have, it still ends with some badluck from Godai who is cut short of proposing to Kyoko when he runs out of quarters.moreless
