Episode Summary

Payson's life is about to get a bit harder when she has to become a regular high school student after being home schooled all her life. With the chaos at school, Payson feels more like a loser than ever and she becomes the new target for the school queen bee. Things get even worse when Kaylie, Emily and Lauren show up to see her. But when she meets a fellow loner Ike, things start getting better. Is Payson going to survive High School?

Meanwhile, Sasha tries to make the annual Open House a fun activity. When he pairs Kaylie and Nicky for a special performance, the fun is over for the two of them.moreless

So I was expecting the episode to be a little bit more exciting but it was good for the most part. I'll be honest, I am always hopeful to see at least one of Emily's suitors/Damon the boyfriend but of course this episode wasn't about love (next one is though!).

You can definitely see the set up for some Kaylicky (awful, awful combo name) especially with them making up near the end with Nicky acknowledging Kaylie's strengths and admitting that he was a bit of a jerk... guess Payson's out of the picture for this bull. And of course poor Carter gets drunk after seeing the Kaylicky duet and finds a sleeping Lauren in the attic/random room in the house... but Carter remains deeply in love with Kaylie and only takes Lauren's manipulative words at face value (gotta love the girl for keeping at it!)

Emily becomes distracted over negative comments on blogs, and eventually tells her story at the open house to inspire other underprivileged children… hopefully that'll be enough of a confidence booster for a while! I really want to see Emily triumph at the next competition and just be confident that she's an amazing gymnast. Seeing Payson in high school was interesting, but the supposed loner Ike doesn't seem like much of a loner since everyone knows him and he seems pretty popular… but just my personal take on that. I don't really want Payson to go and just be a normal high school girl cuz clearly she's not! I was really hoping that she'd go and coach the girls but I guess it's still too hard though seriously I do not want her to turn to drinking and drugs. I definitely feel like she's become really closed off with the other girls, and with the new Kaylicky development I don't see things going in a positive direction for Payson… She was pretty dry with Emily too, with the whole "No offense Emily, but you don't" line. Guess at the end of the day Emily's still a bit of a loner with the group

Overall good episode, looking forward to the next episode! Fake holidays are always fun!moreless

The scene with Sasha is an allusion to the scene with Ben Stein in history class where he is calling attendance and Bueller isn't there, so he keeps repeating his name.
