Make It or Break It returned in form, but at times seemed way too formulaic. Even though the show has been on break for months it picked up in the next week so the same drama remained. Although I like the idea of Carter picking Lauren instead of Kaylie, I just hate Carter, his character is boring and his role in the girls relationship really devalues their friendship and makes it seem as if all girls should pick their boyfriend over a life-long friend. However the confrontation at the end was perfect and showed off Lauren's insecurity really well.
Emily's story line was pretty bland this episode and the ending montage was a little bit too corny for me at the end, Payson continued to relentless pursue her goals at any cost even thought it seems this time her cost will be her career and her future on the National team.
The most interesting part of this episode came from the girls landing a spot on the national team. As usual Sasha was right, but the girls didn't have the sense to listen to his wisdom. Payson and him had some nice moments, but she didn't listen as always. The role of Ellen (i think that's her name) was so interesting as she basically told the girls that she was on a power trip but she continued anyways. Her and Steve at the bar was the best scene of the episode because the really showed how business means more than passion sometimes. The fact that he is Emily's private donor was predictable but will cause some nice drama in the future.
And Chloe's mom finally looks as beautiful as the actress is, so all in all a good start to the new season.
