Rusty: You don't have to give me a dime for an ice cream cone.
Danny: That's fine.
Rusty: Just give me a nickel.
Danny: Don't be silly. You can't get an ice cream cone for a nickel.
Rusty: I know. But a man said if I can get a nickel, he'd split one with me.
Danny: A man said if you can get a nickel, he'd split an ice cream cone with you?
Danny: What man?
Rusty: That man right there.
(Rusty points to the man, Jack Benny, who then walks away)
Kathy: Danny, wasn't that man Jack Benny?
Danny: Of course, who else would make a deal like that?
The name change to "The Danny Thomas Show" was by way of an edict from CBS chairman William S. Paley. According to Danny Thomas, Paley didn't like the show. Paley was away on vacation when the show was approved for the fall schedule and then tried to have it removed. However, this was a time when sponsors had considerably more control over schedules than they do today, and with General Foods/Maxwell House owning the Monday night 9-9:30 time slot (8-8:30 Central and Mountain), there was little he could do.
This was the first episode to be broadcast on CBS, where the show was retitled "The Danny Thomas Show"
