  • I loved it!

Hal makes Malcolm, Reese and Dewey go see a psychiatrist. He thinks one of them wrecked the car. They talk and have flashbacks of chaotic times. Hal finds out that it was his fault that the car was wrecked, so they leave.

This was a fantastic episode! Even though they were just flashbacks, I never really got to see these scenes because FX usually doesn't show the openings. They were all very funny! The actual episode really didn't have anything to it, but I liked it nonetheless. Francis's little clip in the beginning was okay as well. I give this episode a 10 out of 10!moreless
  • Boring!

This was a pretty boring episode, there was no action nor anuything, just the boys going out with the physiatrist in order to find out what they knew, that they are monsters, as this happens they begin to do lots of things there, such as stupid things and every thing, but still I think that the clip shows are really, really boring, and well I don't like them, its pretty much boring and well, I guess that's the thing, is something really boring.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • This episode has no "Camera Commentary" in any of the new segments. There is a few in some clips from previous episodes.

    • All but one of the clips are show openings. The only other one is Francis struggling to explain himself in the first episode.

    • When the clip of Lois opening the windows in Malcolm and Reese's window, she opens the first window, and when the camera zooms out, the second window "magically" opens by itself.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Dr. Kennedy: Reese, what do you think your role in the family is?
Reese: I guess I'm the bad boy, the one that ruins everything. Every family has that guy, the one that makes you cry, makes you hate coming home at the end of the day, just knowing I'm going to be there. It's a lot of work, but I guess it's pretty satisfying.

    • Dr. Kennedy: And how do you see your place in this family?
Dewey: I'm the favorite, you know. The cute one everyone looks out for and loves the most. And sometimes they even make the birds sing to me and the clouds write my name.

    • Malcolm: I don't fit in. I mean, honestly, sometimes I feel I've just been dropped into this family from outer space.
Dr. Kennedy: That's interesting. Now, how ...?
Reese: He's the one that fixes everything.
      Dr. Kennedy: What?
Dewey: Yeah, he's the one that figures everything out and solves a lot of our problems.
Reese: Kind of like that gay kid with a scarf on Scooby Doo, the leader.

    • Hal: So you were telling the truth?

    • Dewey: Can I have a piece of candy?
      Psychiatrist: No.

  • NOTES (3)

    • The opening credits is shortened. It is just the final line "life is unfair." The names of the cast are during the actual episode. The full title sequence appears in future airings as well as the Netflix streaming episodes.

    • Cold Open: Francis is trying to unclog a drain and turns on the disposal, but his hand is in the other sink. Then he decides to try and put his hand in the other one and comes close to hitting the disposal button again.

This is the only new scene that Francis is in. He appears in only one clip.

    • Outside of the old clips, Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) does not appear in this episode.
