  • Another great flashback episode!

Lois and Hal must write their will. They want to do it secretly, so the boys won't get worried. They argue about everything though. There are flashbacks showing various things like Lois and Hal's anger problems, the boys' anger issues and other funny stuff. Hal and Lois think they aren't good parents.

This episode was awesome! I love watching flashbacks! It gives me so many memories from the show. I think it would be weird writing my will. I would be kind of sad thinking that I would have to die eventually. This episode gets a 10 out of 10 from me!moreless
  • really boring...

I kind of like this episode because of the plot between Lois and Hal doing their will, and believing that they are not good parents, but later they discover that they are in fact when they are able to help Dewey when he gets hurt, apart from that is not that funny because it is just clip shows about previous episodes, and those episodes were great, but is not to begin to remember them again, and again, is kind of boring the clip shows, I just don't like it, well I think that this episode was really boring.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • This episode has no "Camera Commentary" (not even in flashbacks).

    • Lois said the reason she doesn't like Francis is because when he was born, she spent 6 weeks in the hospital because of a staph infection, worrying about how Francis needed her. But when her 6 weeks were up, she saw that Francis really didn't notice she was gone, but in a previous episode where we saw the boys' births, Lois and Hal just walked into their fancy house with Francis. There was nothing about a staph infection then.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Hal: Look, I will be the first to admit that Francis was not the easiest kid for you to deal with, but he has changed.
Lois: Oh, yeah, big change! He quit school, moved 3,000 miles, and married someone that he knew for exactly 20 minutes. You can't make life decisions on a whim and be a good parent. A good parent understands that actions have consequences.
Hal: Lois, we are parents precisely because we can't remember that!

    • Reese: (to Hal) All right, you stupid, useless, old man, there's gonna be some big changes!

    • Lois: Oh, you're not going to kill yourself, you can't even rip off your own band-aid.
Hal: I happen to be very hairy.

    • Hal: You can't get out of this by playing the "my husband is crazy" card! It didn't work with the airport security screener, and it is not going to work now!

  • NOTES (6)

    • This episode is the only episode where Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) does not appear, although he is shown in the flashbacks.

    • The actors listed as "Guest Stars" and "Co-Stars" are credited alphabetically. Because of that, every actor that was credited as a "Special Guest Star" changed into a "Guest Star".

    • Cold Open: Hal tries to remove a splinter at the same time Reese plays with a voodoo doll of Hal, making Reese think he can control Hal. Reese says "all right, you stupid, useless, old man, there's gonna be some big changes!"

    • Reese only appears in the teaser of this episode besides the flashbacks.

    • There are no clips from season 4 in this episode. There are only clips from the first 3 seasons.

    • Aside from in clips from previous episodes, Christopher Masterson (Francis) and Frankie Muniz (Malcolm) do not appear in this episode.
