malcolm and his family go out to dinner with the Kenarbans. Reese spends most of the time being mean to Stevie, Kitty gets frustrated with a waiter, and Abe and Hal get drunk.

At the academy Francis and the cadets need Spangler's help to get rid of party girls.

Good episode, my score could be higher but I did not like the sub plot a lot. The main plot was really funny but there was something I did not like about the sub plot. I felt bored during it. Overall my grade for this episode is a B+ or so. Goodmoreless
  • A good episode.

    9.0
It was actually a nice episode that was surprisingly refreshing. I think that whenever the two families get together, it makes for a funny and entertaining episode. I thought that with the storyline with the brothers and Stevie, it made the show good. I liked the writing and the comedy as it made the show stand out from many others. One thing I liked most of all was Stevie beating Reese to a bloody mess. It was also very funny to watch the awkward interaction between Kitty and Lois. It was really weird, but entertaining. Hal and Abe are clowns. Thank you.moreless
  • Funny!

    9.5
Stevie and his family invite Malcolm's family for dinner. They go to a nice restaraunt. Lois warns the kids not to misbehave. Macolm and Reese have started a game where if you look at the other's hand when in a certain shape, below the waist, they get to punch you. Hal and Stevie's dad go get drinks, while Kitty and Lois are left to talk. Lois convinces her to yell once in a while. Hal and Stevie's dad get drunk. Stevie wants to play with Malcolm and Reese. Reese keeps punching Stevie, so Stevie gets revenge, which makes Kitty yell at him. Dewey is getting all the money from the tips. Francis has a party when Commandant Spangler has "company." The local girls tear the place down.

This episode was great! I liked the restaraunt plot better than Francis's plot. I give it a 9.5 out of 10!moreless
  • Stevie beat reese up!!

    10
The circle game! It was fun while it lasted. Reese deserves what he got coming to him. I never knew Stevie had it in him. It looks like Malcolm wasn't even playing for the time being or reese wanted to beat stevie up. Stevie's mom got ticked!! Going crazy was fun to watch and his dad got drunk. They are contagious!! All of this because of malcolm, reese, Hal and lois can't be a normal family. Why did know one care about dewey it was like he was invisible. This was a great and funny episode 10/10 For all!moreless
  • Stevie vs. Reese, and Kitty gets totally mad, and Abe and Hal go for a drink.

    10
This episode make me laugh a lot, first of all Reese seem to be outsmartin Stevie while hitting him, but at the end Stevie gets his revenge, and we know that Stevie is very strong indeed. While Lois tries to take out Kitty's angry side, and when she manages it, she regrets even doing it so, and to end everything Abe and Hal get drunk and end up totally embarrased in front of their wives. While at military school, Francis invites some local girls, that go totally crazy.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • It shows that Spangler has a room at the academy. However, in a previous episode when he was held up on his way home after Francis released all the frogs before dissection, it was stated that Spangler lived two miles away.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • Abe: [Kitty] won't let me have butter on my bread. Butter. I haven't eaten the stuff in ten years.
Hal: How'd this happen? I mean, we weren't always this way.
Abe: Actually, I was. Classic story: raised by a grandmother and four spinster aunts. I used to wash their hair on Saturday nights.
Hal: Poor bastard. You never had a chance.
Abe: Damn it. Enough is enough!
(Abe gobbles down miniature slabs of butter and drinks a shot)
      Hal: You go, Abe!

    • Francis: What are we gonna do, sir?
Spangler: We are going to do what any self-respecting member of society does in a situation like this: we're going to keep it quiet.
Joe: But they're destroying the school.
Spangler: Let's hope that's all they do, cadet. I'm afraid this is like an oil fire -- we have to let it burn itself out.
Francis: Oh, yeah, I forgot -- one of them started an oil fire.

    • Stevie: Crying on command got me a cable modem!

    • Lois: Now, remember, no throwing ice, no flicking butter at the ceiling, no sticking gum under the table, and no eating gum already stuck under the table!

    • Dewey: (on the floor, rolled in) It was foul.
Reese: Shut up your home plate! You don't get a vote!

    • Lois: It was Kitty Kenarban, she invited a dinner. Hal: Good for you. Lois: I am talking about everyone. It will be nice to dinner out with decent people. I wonder why people never invite us to dinner Hal: I see some Hungry Seals (the boys act like seals while Hal throws the spaghetti in their mouths)

    • Kitty: Stevie, what the hell do you think you're doing?! You are in so much trouble! This behavior is totally unacceptable! We are at a restaurant. What is wrong with you? (Stevie about to speak) Don't you take that tone with me! You just wait till we get home!
      Reese: He bruised the bone.
Lois: Oh, like you didn't deserve it. (to Kitty) Good for you! I knew you had it in you.
      Kitty: Shut your trap!
Waiter: Excuse me, don't you mind please keeping it down?
Kitty: Would you mind going to hell?! And I absolutely did order tea! How hard is it to remember a stupid drink order, you idiot?!
Abe: Kitty, there's going to be some changes...
Kitty: (to Abe) And you-- Mr. Ho Hos in his sock drawer! Who do you think you're kidding?
Lois: Honey, you have to pace yourself.
Kitty: (to Abe) And another thing, Don Juan-- there are two people in that bed!

    • Francis: (knocking on Spangler's door) Sir?
Spangler: Go away! I told you I did not want to be disturbed. My aunt and I are... catching up.
Francis: I... I thought you said it was your mother, sir.
      (long pause)
      Spangler: Go away!

    • Hal: Okay, here's the plan if we want to ditch out of this thing. At the beginning, I'll say that I think I might be coming down with something...
Lois: Hal, I don't want to ditch out of this. I'm looking forward to it. The Kenarbans are nice people, and they want to be friends with us.
Hal: So, you're saying I'm on my own here?

    • Malcolm: Whoa, interesting dinner. Stevie beat the crap out of Reese, his Dad got drunk, and his Mom went totally psycho. Oh my god, we're contagious!

    • Naked Cadet: I saw things, Francis, terrible things, and I think I'm engaged.

    • Spangler (referring to the damage the local girls wrought): We got off lucky, this happened in 74 and we had to bulldoze the Ampitheater.

    • Abe: Sorry we're late, some jackass parked in the handicapped spot.
Hal (nervous and embarrassed): Uhh... excuse me, I think I left something in the car.

    • Francis: Hey I promised you girls! Not quality girls.

    • Francis: I think this is where they nested.
