  • Hal is Hal-arious!

    "Perfect"
After Hal learns that he forgot to pay the health insurance, he is very cautious on not getting the boys injured. He doesn't want Lois to know. Malcolm, Reese and Dewey want revenge on someone, but Hal grounds them, so they don't get hurt. Hal finds a loose nail and hammers it in. It causes the patio roof to fall on him and his leg is very injured. He still manages to hide it from Lois. At work, there is a snitch telling the boss what the employees are up to. Lois thinks it's Craig. When she finds out he's innocent, but already convinces the others that it's him, she finds out that he was actually planning a party for her Lucky Aide anniversary.

This episode was great! Hal was in a big panic! I can't believe how paranoid he was. Craig's singing was also really funny! This episode gets a 10 out of 10 from me!moreless

This episode is very very cool
and the role of Hal is one of his best.
Also Reese of course is doing his normal thing
    being very stupid.
I wonder where this episode is filmed. I would
like to know in which dessert this is.
So if anyone knows this please let me know.
its a 10 out of 10 this one.
  • Another good episode, nothing special but nothing boring either.

    "Great"
The starting part of Reese and brainfreeze was kinda boring, but it was hilarious to watch Hal try and protect his kids for the weekend from all the "deathtraps" that lay around the house for years but only realized now. I was glad to see the put a tiny twist on Craig the snitch thing. Too bad theres no character devlopment, but its supposed to be just a funny stupidish show.moreless

    • Hal reveals that he once left Dewey in Mexico. Possibly the first time Hal tried to reach the ranch and ended up in Mexico instead, which Francis mentioned in an earlier episode.

  • QUOTES (5)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Craig: Let the records show that I advocated a policy of cowardice and appeasement.

    • (the employees of Lucky Aide are gathering to discuss establishing a union) Craig: I appreciate all the anger that's in this room and God knows I'm not one to shy away from a fight. But I suggest that instead of starting a union, we form a special committee to, maybe, paint Mr. Cochran's house so he'll wanna be nice to us.

    • Hal: What's the matter with you boys? Don't you realize you could get killed? Reese: Dad, I can't die. Hal: What? Reese: I'm seventeen. Hal: And so you can't die? Reese: I just don't see it happening. Hal: I got news for you, Reese. Seventeen-year-olds die all the time. Reese: Come on, Dad, that's just something they tell you so you'll stay off drugs.

    • Hal: It's a very special moment when a father watches his boys lie to their mother for him. There's only one thing that could make me prouder: if one of you could saw off my leg.

    • Hal: I can't feel anything below my left knee. Is my foot okay? Reese: Your foot looks fine... but I think the rest of you's facing the wrong way.

  • NOTES (3)

    ADD NOTES
    • A very similar episode of King of the Hill (also a Fox show) entitled "Mutual of Omabwah" (S9E8) aired on Sunday, March 6th, 2005. In that episode, Hank forgets to pay the house insurance and freaks out when they have no coverage and tries to make sure the house doesn't get damaged. This episode may be inspired partly from the KOTH one.

    • Cold Open: Malcolm and Dewey are amazed that Reese cannot get a brain freeze, try as he might.

    • Francis (Christopher Masterson) does not appear in this episode.
