Lois wonders what she would like the next kid to be: a boy or a girl. So during a day at the mall with the family she envisions life with Malcolm, Reese and Dewey as girls- Mallory, Renee, and Daisy. But she finds out the pros and cons with boys and girls too when in her visions, the girls turn out to be just as bad as the boys are now- if not worse. At the end of the episode she says she would like having a girl this time.

A pretty funny episode with a random plot, but it worked wellmoreless
  • This is funny, but creepy.

    8.5
I thought this episode was really funny, but I thought that seeing Francis dressed as a woman was creepy. The fake breasts was also creepy. Nonetheless, I thought the episode was actually good and it was really entertaining. Normally, I don't like Lois, but she was actually decent in this episode. I also found that the girl playing the oldest of the three was hot, the one that was pregnant at the end. The story was good and the writing was okay. I think the acting pretty good, considering the main actors weren't themselves. Overall, it was a decent episode. Thank you.moreless
  • Hilarious!!

It's Valentine's Day! Lois imagines what life would be like if the boys were girls. Malcolm becomes Mallory, Reese becomes Renee, Dewey becomes Daisy and Francis is Francis, but as a girl. At first, everything seems perfect in her girl world. When she must go to the mall with the boys, they fight about trying on clothes and Hal tries to find the perfect gift for Lois. After the family must run from security, Lois's perfect girl world is turned upside down.

This episode was great! It was so funny! I recognized Lisa Foiles as Mallory and Jeannette McCurdy as Daisy. They are both of Nickelodean fame! This episode gets a 10 out of 10!moreless
  • how will it be...

    9.2
Lois gets angry at the boys because of a stupid fight, and Hal asks Lois if she prefers the baby to be boy or girl, Lois does not know how to answer, and later begins to imaginet that her horrible sons are girls, and that are a way much better, as time passes Lois begins to want his boys to be girls because the boys fight for stupid things, but later Lois discovers that the girls know how does a mother thinks and that they will outsmarted her whenever they want and also that they get in much more troubles than boys, at the end Lois decides that she wants to have girl... really good episode, but I don't really understand why did Lois wanted a girl after everything, probably just to give some laugh!moreless
  • The grass isn\'t always greener on the other side...

    8.5
This isn\'t as well up as some of my other fave episodes, but this proves the aphorism \'the grass isn\'t always greener on the other side\' true. Malcolm and Reese fight over a pen, and Lois is upset. Hal asks whether she\'d prefer her new baby to be male or female. She doesn\'t answer him, but definitely takes the thought to mind. I think this episode really displayed that the grass, is, in fact, NOT greener on the other side. At the mall, Lois off and on imagines Reese, Malcolm and Dewey as Renèe, Mallory and Daisy. As some stereotype, girls are much nicer and calmer than boys, which Lois thinks at first. As her fantasy carries on throughout the day at the mall, with Hal frantically trying to find her a Valentine\'s Day gift, she learns that when it comes to certain topics, girls can be worse than boys. Well acted out, and I\'d recommend it to all.moreless

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Malcolm: Why do we have to go shopping, anyway?
Lois: Because you ruin everything you own and new clothes just don't magically appear in your drawers.
      Dewey: Mine do.

    • Lois: Protect your head and don't trust anyone.
Malcolm: What are you trying to do? Scare us?
Lois: Yes, fear is good. It's an eighty percent off sale. Fear will keep you alive.

    • Dewey: I can see through that old lady's bra.
Malcolm: We've got to get out of here before we're scarred for life.

    • Lois: Girls are supposed to be easy.
      Mallory: No, Mom. You're easy.
Daisy: We can fool you about anything. We're girls, we know how you think and we're not above using it.

    • (Malcolm and Reese are fighting over a pen and Dewey is complaining about his broken space fighter)
Reese (Pokes Dewey with the pen): Shut up and get your own pen!
Malcolm: Shut up, I'm warning you!
Reese: Ooh I'm scared what's the baby gonna do huh? What's the baby gonna do?
(Malcolm Punches Reese in the face)
      Lois: Malcolm!
Hal: Malcolm, you can take Reese?
Lois: No ones taking anybody! Look at you! He better not need stitches! Like you weren't begging for it.
