  • Great!

    9.5
Dewey finds a mini-bike about to be thrown away. Reese pays the garbage man for it. They all fix it up while arguing who gets it and when. Lois finds it and locks it up. Reese, Malcolm and Dewey try and try to get her to let them ride it. Craig gets on everyone's nerves by his staying there. Hal visits Francis on father-son day. At first, Hal is disappointed in Francis, but when he learns that Francis challenges Spangler's orders, he becomes proud again. Lois finally lets them, but Reese ruins it by having sneaked out on it before they knew. Reese injured his leg really badly, so they come up with a plan. They pretend that Craig ran it over, but Lois knows when she sees the busted bike.

This episode was great! That was a really great plan that the boys came up with! This episode gets a 9.5!moreless
  • Malcolm, Reese & Dewey discover a mini-bike in the trash. Getting it running is a small hurddle compared to them getting permission to ride it. Hal visits Francis at school, and learns a little more about his son.moreless

    9.4
This was a very good Malcolm to watch. Hal goes to visit Francis at school, and learns more about who his son is. Despite how much trouble Francis finds himself in, we not only like him all the more for it, we get to see a glimpse of who he evolves into when he goes to The Groto. I always enjoy the shows that center around their family. Finding a mini-bike gives the boys an opportunity to pull together to get a bike. Once the bike runs, the fighting starts and they fall back into the brothers that we all know and love.moreless
  • A great episode!

    9.1
The boys find an abandoned mini bike that is completely broken, and they begin to fix them by themselves, but soon find themselves in an awkward situation when they begin to act with paranoia and think that each othem want to steal the mini bike, but soon their differences are forgotten when Lois forbids them to use the mini bike, while Francis is out with Hal, where Hal discovers that Francis has not amke any utility in the academy, and Craig is driving Lois crazy. This episode is really cool, and is one of my favorite.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • The large knot on Reese's leg is called a fracture blister. Sometimes when a leg breaks, swelling in the bone (called compartment syndrome) causes a large knot to form. The longer it goes untreated the darker and larger it gets, as Reese mentioned was happening.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Dewey: (pointing at Reese's bump) Look, you can see his heartbeat.

    • Reese: (laying down in pain) I don't remember for hating each other or liking each other, but either way, I appreciate it.

    • Craig: (leaving) Jellybean and I are leaving now. Once again, I'm very sorry. I can't even look you people in the eye.

    • Lois: Did you really think I would notice a busted up mini-bike half-buried in the sandbox?

    • Malcolm: (to the camera) I can't believe that plan actually worked. We came up with it in like two seconds. Maybe we should more things half-assed.

    • Lois: Boys, I'm just saying...
Reese: I don't have to stay here and listen to this!
      Malcolm Yes, you do.
      Reese Oh, yeah.

    • Malcolm: We got her!
      Reese: What?
Malcolm: There's a chink in the armor. We're gonna do it. We just play it along and we should have the bike by the end of the week.
Reese: No, we're not. It's broken.
      Malcolm: What?
Reese: I snuck it out for a ride. And you know what? They are dangerous. (shows Malcolm & Dewey his bump on his leg; they both get wide-eyed) You think mom's gonna notice?

    • Craig: What did you do today, sport?
Dewey: (upset about not sharing the bike) Nothing. I'm too little to do anything.
Craig: I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure you've got the biggest head in your class.

    • Malcolm: Where'd you get 30 bucks?
Reese: What are you, a cop?

    • Reese: What are you talking about?  That's not trash! You don't know what trash is!
Garbage Man: Well, I am a garbage man.

    • Malcolm: You don't have any friends.
Reese: Mom told you were never allowed to talk about that!

    • Dewey: (crying on the floor) I want it, I want it. I hate you! I want it! I wish I was dead! (screams)

    • Malcolm: So, according to your logic, a two-foot fall from a mini-bike is more dangerous than a six-foot fall from a galloping horse?
Lois: That was a long time ago.
      Malcolm: Before gravity?

    • Craig: (turns the truck on) I don't know why we have to go across town. It seems kind of silly.
Malcolm: Craig, I promise. It's the best ice cream in town.
Craig: Well, I'll be the judge of that. (backs up the truck and runs over something, making a loud thud; he stops the truck) What was that?!
(Dewey moves a rock out of the driveway to fool Craig that it was Reese's leg that he ran over)
Reese: (non-emotional) Ow! Ow, my leg! Ow! Ow!
(Dewey rolls eyes and hits Reese's bump; Reese begins sobbing and screaming)
Craig: (quickly gets out of his truck, panicking) Oh, my God, what did I do?!
Malcolm: You ran over his leg!
      Craig: Oh, no!
Lois: (runs outside) What happened? (sees Reese injured) Oh, my God, Reese!
(Reese continues sobbing loudly as Malcolm & Dewey look at each other and smile as their plan worked)

    • Hal (looking at Francis' yearbook at Military School): Look at this archery, debating, field hockey. Look at all these clubs and teams and you're not in any of them. There isn't even a picture of you in here.
      Francis: Look under "P-za-hut".
Hal: I don't want to look under "P-za-hut".
Francis: If you say it fast it sounds like...

    • Lois: What's the matter, Craig?
Craig: What does it say on this jar?
      Lois: Craig.
Craig: Well I'm glad someone around here can read. The jar holds fourteen pickles. I had three yesterday, two for lunch today, and one and a half for snack. And now there are six and a half pickles in this jar. Simple math indicates...
Lois: Are you counting the one in your hand?
      Craig: Ok, false alarm.
