Malcolm in the Middle

FOX (ended 2006)

  • Season 6 Episode 11: Dewey's Opera

  • Hal mentions that there is a rule about boredom in the house, then giving Dewey the remote for the TV.

  • When Hal is ranting about his paranoia about Lois leaving him, he says she'd be on a beach in Ibiza which he pronounces eye-bee-za. This is a common mispronunciation, it actually being pronounced ee-vee-thah.

  • Hal says Lois bought the king size bed, the largest one made. However, the largest commercially available mattress is emperor size. In addition, though harder to find, there are enormous beds called carousel mattresses that take up significantly more room because of their round shape.

  • The reason Lois bought the king-sized bed was to be able to pass gas without Hal smelling it, but Hal said when she sound asleep, she lets them loose like a sailor.

  • When Malcolm is going to skate down the road, his helmet isn't "locked", in the next shot it is

  • Season 6 Episode 10: Billboard

  • If the boys had not been quite as preoccupied with the billboard at the very start, Malcolm could've easily realized Lois would return to that area to pick up the towels she missed earlier, and they could've picked another night to do it, and thus be successful without getting caught.

  • Right at the end when you see Dewey being brought to the ambulance you can see the lights on of the ambulance on, they are also on in the next couple of shots, but when they are closing the doors of the ambulance they are off again and go on a second later.

  • Season 6 Episode 9: Malcolm's Car

  • Why didn't Malcolm lay down across the front seat and kick out the window? There is a possibility that he would have been cut because that particular car didn't feature safety glass, but that's better than certain death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

  • Malcolm has an obsession with his new car, which is ironic because Frankie Muniz is a car fanatic. He owns several rare and expensive cars, and he races as well.

  • In the scene where Craig is talking to Fred's son, the music in the background is Talk to the Hand by: Michele Vice-Maslin.

  • Goof: After Stevie saves Malcolm from asphyxiating in the garage, he drops him to the ground so he can breathe. While being grateful, Malcolm tells him that the wheel of his wheelchair is on his crotch. But the next shot on Stevie shows the wheel by the side of Malcolm's leg, not between them. In fact, he would have had to roll the chair up close to Malcolm past his legs to be on top of his crotch.

  • Malcolm's car was actually a 1968 Barracuda. Side marker lights were not required until 1968. The small round lights
located at the four corners of the show's car indicate that it was a '68. The 1967 Barracuda had none. Also, the decal on the rear fenders of the car were from a 1970 HEMI Cuda, and the engine shown was a small block 340.

  • At the very begining when Hal discovers that Jamie ate the car keys, you see a hand holding Jamie's arm down and Jamie's shirt goes from untucked to tucked.

  • Season 6 Episode 8: Lois Battles Jamie

  • At the beginning of the episode when Hal thinks he won the lottery and is about to quit his job, he is about to admit that he was responsible for a burrito that exploded in the work microwave five years ago. Hal only got his new job recently. He definitely hasn't been working there for five years.

  • In the past, Lois and Hal had the exact opposite personalities they have now. Hal was strict while Lois was soft.

  • Lois first became strict when little Francis put lighter fluid on his teddy bear. She got worried about his safety and said she will do anything to keep him safe because she loves him.

  • Malcolm has no "internal speech" in this episode.

  • (This applies to the German dubbed version)

When Reese is going to perform the stunt, jumping from the diving board with the fireworks, Malcolm says that they'll record it on camera and broadcast it live on

This site really exists, but contains a filler page.

  • When Lois is in the bathtub talking with Hal, the washcloth on her forehead disappears and reappears between cuts.

  • Season 6 Episode 7: Hal Sleepwalks

  • If this was real, there is no way the teacher would have let Hanson go on swearing for that long.
