Mama gets an invitation in the mail to the 50th Gilmore Junior High School Reunion. She doesn't want to attend this event, but won't really reveal why. Naomi has started a catering career for herself, employing Vint and Bubba as servers, but it gets off to a terrible start when she gives food poisoning to Vint's men's' club, the "Mystic Order of the Cobra" by leaving potato salad in a car overnight. But fortunately for Naomi, she convinces the organizers of the reunion to let her cater their event.
Iola comes to talk to Mama about why she doesn't wish to attend. It seems in high school Mama went on a date with a boy, Clayton Gibbons, and when he ran out of gas on a country road, he tried to make a move on her, but she wouldn't do anything. So Mama twisted his arm until he went and got gas. The next day, he showed up to school with him arm in a sling, telling everyone he hurt it when Thelma pulled him in the backseat of his car. From then on, Mama was known as "Hot Pants." Every boy in the school wanted to get with her, and many of their fathers as well. Iola convinces Mama that that was the past, and she should go to her Reunion. Mama thinks about going, but is sure of it when Naomi reveals she got a job catering the Reunion.
When Mama gets to her Reunion, she is nervous, and the first man who talks to her calls her "Hot Pants," making her want to leave. She talks to another woman who does the same. And not long after, the family learns the story of "Hot Pants," and tries to figure out who it could possibly be. Iola comes up and is asked if she knows about this girl, and Iola reveals that it is Mama who is the girl. The family is surprised and shocked, though Naomi is getting a kick out of it. But Mama sets the record straight as soon as Clayton arrives; she again twists his arm, until this time he tells the whole truth. Then Mama feels right at home and starts having fun. But Naomi's catering career comes to a mercifully quick end, as her food once again bombs. Although the janitor did use three bowls of her dip to clog up a leaking pipe in the boy's room.
