I came across this a couple months ago. Apparently, Warner Brothers has made the comment that unless we are willing to buy their Mama's Family releases with the syndicated openings, they will scrap the idea of future releases, since they do not own the prints to the original uncuts. Frankly, I feel it's WB's own fault that they got angry emails and letters about the syndicated released because I know they were flooded with emails about releasing Mama's Family as uncut episodes. But WB never once mentioned that they were unable to produce them that way until the day the first season was released.
Regardless, I came across a petition on another message board that with the help of TVShowsonDVD.com operator, Gord Lacey, we can get WB to consider releasing the other seasons of Mama's Family. Sure, they won't have the original Alistair Quice openings, but at least we would have them to view anytime we wanted instead of waiting for the show to finish the run and start back over.
