    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (5)

      • When Mama kicked Mabel in her butt, she fell right to the ground. Mama didn't kick her that hard so it seemed, so could Mabel really fall that quickly?

      • Iola said that she fashioned Naomi a bee suit for a more mature bee, with the help of a giant black tarp she found. However, there is noticable difference between the two outfits. Didi's was tight and low cut, while Mama's was baggy and more covering. The black tarp was used as a skirt, but there is no way that little costume of Didi's could have been turned into what Mama was wearing.

      • "Professional" wrestling is a highly choreographed event. People just can't come in off the street and participate in it without seriously injuring themselves or the performers. So, while it is plausible for Didi's explanation for Naomi to just stand there as window dressing, having both Naomi and Thelma just hop in and do it is stretching the limits of the suspension of disbelief.

      • While Naomi does say she knew Didi as a fellow cheerleader, and let's say she did know Didi's mother well enough to call her, doesn't seem a tad bit odd that Didi's mother would just give out her information to anyone who called? Any wrestling fan could claim to be the same thing.

      • While watching the matches on Tv pay attention to the last scene of the match. Didi has her opponent in a Half-Crab, with the girl on her face and the severely retarded ref counts three instead of signaling for the beg when she submitted. There's one that I hope slipped past the editors. Cause if not, they really should have done a little more research on the sport, like actually watching a whole match before attempting to make a wrestling episode. Pathetic.

    • QUOTES (17)

      • (Naomi says she may be Didi's wrestling partner, since all she has to do is stand there)
Mama: Oh wake up and smell the coffee. These women are professional athletes. The only thing you ever exercise is you lips and your hips.
Naomi: You don't think I can do anything.
Mama: Nothing decent people would pay to see.

      • Naomi: Well, you haven't changed at all since high school.
Didi: Oh, well neither have you Naomi. Why you look the same way you did when we were cheerleaders.
Mama: Lord, I haven't heard this much lying since the Contra Hearings.

      • Announcer: In this corner, are the challengers, at a combined weight of two hundred and ninety five pounds, the Queen Bees.
Mama: I would like y'all to know that only 120 of that 295 is mine.

      • *Mama says how the Mabels were gracious losers*
Naomi: Maybe as a friendly gesture we oughtta invite them to dinner.
Mama: No, I don't think so Naomi. I only got the one side of beef in the freezer. Then what would I feed the other one?

      • *The Masked Mabels enter the ring*
Iola: Wouldn't you hate to meet those two in a dark alley?
Mama: They wouldn't both fit in a dark alley.

      • Mama: Lord, you wouldn't think jumping on a fat woman would make you this sore.

      • *The announcer says that the combined weight of the Mabels' is 410*
Mama: 410? Those two porkers are 650 if they're an ounce.

      • Mabel 2: Me and Mabel hate to body slam anyone over 90.
Mama: The only thing over 90 around here is y'alls dress size.

      • Mabel 1: Careful old lady. You're talking to the Masked Mables.
Mama: Oh yeah? Well, I'd wear a mask too if thighs as big as yours.

      • Mama: Naomi, just because she can squeeze that big chest of hers into that little bitty bee suit does not make her a celebrity.
        Bubba: Does to me.

      • Mama: You wanna have that wrestling floozy here, in our home?
        Vint: Please Mama.
        Bubba: Please!

      • Naomi: Wait a minute. I know that Bee. That is Didi Mason. We were cheerleaders in high school together.
Mama: That couldn't be. She looks much younger than you.
Naomi: Everybody looks younger in a bee suit. I swear that is Didi. You don't forget somebody who stood on your shoulders.

      • Vint: I don't like those Huskies. They're real mean.
Mama: Yeah, well you'd be mean to if you had to squeeze your fat neck into that dog collar.

      • Mama: Even Gypsy Rose Lee didn't show that much.

      • Iola: I have never understood what anyone sees in wrestling.
Naomi: Me either. It's just a bunch of pumped up sweaty men, rolling around the floor wearing nothing but them skimpy little shorts.
*Iola and Naomi look at each other and run to the TV*

      • Mama: If Iola didn't invite herself places, she'd never go anywhere.
Iola: Thank you Thelma. *looks up and realizes what she just said*

      • *The announcer says the Championship will be at the Ray Arena*
Mama: I thought The Fire Marshall condemned that Hell Hole years ago.

    • NOTES (2)

      • In the background of the arena, you can see that the audience is just a large picture of people.

      • When the Masked Mabels come to the ring for the first time to face Didi and Naomi, there is a close up of the pair walking by ring side, taunting the audience. Pay attention to the upper left side of the screen. There is a series of red squares on the camera lens. Whatever they were, the lens was cleaned up when the scene switches to the long shot of the Mabels climbing through the ropes into the ring.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The name of this episode is a parody of "Wrestlemania," wrestling show that starred Hulk Hogan, Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow, Andre The Giant, and Ted Diabase.
