Naomi: Well Mrs. Harper, we're just doing dirty dancing.
Mama: I can see that, now STOP IT!
Vint: Those moves are gonna win us that contest tonight at Rayland.
Mama: Yeah, in my day the only place at Rayland you could do moves like that was in the parking lot.
Bubba: Gee, I didn't know Rayland was around in the olden days.
Mama: Oh yeah, sure. Me and your grandpa used to go over there in the covered wagon, dance the Virginia reel, and kill a couple buffalo on the way home.
Mama: Ramon, this is my son Vinton. This is his wife Naomi.
Ramon: I'm charmed.
Mama: You won't be for long.
(Naomi and Vint are up to pick a dance out of the hat)
Vint: You do it honey! You can pick a winner!
Mama: Cept when it comes to picking wives.
Naomi: I want the judges to see me in the best possible light.
Mama: Well, you better pray somebody blows a fuse.
Mama: You can still get down when you're over sixty. The hard part is getting back up.
(Ramon is about to make dip down on Mama)
Mama: Oh, go ahead Ramon. Make my day.
Mama: It's not gonna be that dirty. The best us oldsters can muster is dingy dancing.
(Thelma tells Ramon to teach her the Latin Sizzle)
Iola: That's the spirit Thelma! You can do it!
Bubba: Hey, you really think Grandma can pull this off?!
Iola: She hadn't got a prayer.
Iola: I didn't know Naomi was so light on her feet.
Mama: Boy, what I wouldn't give for a handful of marbles right now.
(Mama picks a dance choice out of the hat)
Mama: Oh, the Latin Sizzle! The Latin Sizzle! What the hell's the Latin Sizzle?
Mama: Feet, do your stuff!
Iola: Ow! Oh, Bubba my toe!
Bubba: Aw, I'm sorry Miss Boylen. I'm used to leading.
Mama: Vinton, you wouldn't know class if it bit cha on the butt.
*Vint and Naomi are doing dirty dancing*
Mama: Well, what the hell kind of a smut show is this?!
Naomi: Isn't this dress too much?
Mama: It's not enough!
Mama: I'm an old woman. My body doesn't mend as fast as it used to. I gotta be real careful how I treat it. Bubba, would you hand me my beer and Fritos.
Mama: Oh, not that Geraldo. Tonight he's got woman on there talking about sex after sixty. I tell ya, that goon has lost all touch with reality.
Mama: Oh no. You back off buster. I'm ain't about to do something standing up I've never done lying down!
In the final scene during Mama and Ramon dancing when they show the family, Beverly Archer is laughing a bit.
Berry's assistant choreographer for this episode, Brenda Thompson, has very few additional credits. Most surprisingly, the one she might be remembered for is the voice of Dr. Quinn Darien from Hanna Barbera's Godzilla cartoon of the late 1970's!
Most of the dancing segments in any episode of Mama's Family were choreographed by Berry. He got his start in dancing, eventually noticed by Lucille Ball in the Billy Barnes Revue.
The title of this episode is an allusion to the movie titled, "Dirty Dancing". It was released in 1987 and starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the daughter of Joel Grey. (This movie was made before the infamous nose job.)
