Bear: Dreams are great, but they have a price. Dreams are made possible in those dark hours, the unsung hours behind the scenes, and if you want them, you've got to pay that price.
Gilo: (on paramotoring) The whole experience is just unbelievable. If there's a Heaven out there, you sort of feel like you're in Heaven.
Bear: (testing the paramotor in a wind tunnel) It's like an industrial deep freeze with a massive, kind of like, cold hair dryer blasting a hundred mile an hour wind at you. And so, any kind of little niggles, any exposed flesh, any littel bits where the wind can get in, you know, we're gonna feel it.
Gilo had a bit of trouble with his Everest landing, but not from any malfunction. According to Bear, "Gilo was coming in to land when a trekker ran out in front of him to try and take a picture- Gilo managed to avoid him with himself and the paramotor but the trekker still just stood there taking photos and the parachute settled down on top of him. Why the trekker did not move no-one knows!"
Bear wanted to fly over Mt Everest itself, but there were difficulties with China, who control Tibetan airspace. So he settled for flying above the mountain's height from the south, which is where the permit he acquired allowed him to go.
