Alan the other person in side of Ed finally awakens. Alan battles Ian if you want to call it that because Alan is much stronger than Ian. Ginta rescues Snow from the ice prision that she locked her self in. Ginta and Snow get thier first kiss. They kissed eachother and Ginta wondered if he was cheating on Koyuki. Which makes me wonder if he likes Koyuki as more than just a friend. Halloween intrupts Alan and Ian's fight and we find out a little bit of the first war with the chess pieces. Phantom sends Halloween to get Ian and Loco so he can plan his next phase of destroying MAR.moreless
  • A decent episode, which revealed a few things.

This episode was well dubbed, but like always, the subbed version was much better... But not by much.

So now, we have a few new characters - Alan, who is the other human-form of Edward and the princess. I know for a fact that both of these characters will become extremely important later on in the series.

Alan and Halloween had a vast discussion about the previous war in MAR Heaven. That must mean that Alan knew the other human from earth...

The episode stopped at somewhat a cliffhanger... I hope they get out of that castle soon, and continue on their journey, as the scenery is very nice.

So overall, decent episode, with a few things I wasn't pleased about that I won't mention.moreless

    • Alan: (to Ian) Stop it... This is the part where the prince awakens the princess! So don't ruin the plot!

    • Jack: (yelling to Ginta after a light shines on the fallen Edward) Ginta, Ginta! I think something happened to Ed!

    • Ginta: And hurting the princess is part of her plan?!
Loco: If it is necessary, of course...

    • Babbo: Get your muddy shoes off of me! A gentleman's head is not a footrest!

    • Ginta: All right that's it. I've had about enough of you, you jokers. I'm ready to defeat you now. I might be weak now and maybe I don't know how to use Babbo right, but believe me when I say I'm going to defeat each and every one of you Chess Pieces and I'm going to save Mar and the princess. So bring it!
Ian: Now that's real cute hero speech there kid, but I'm afraid you aren't gonna get a next time.
Ginta: Well you'll go down before I do!

    • Halloween: So what's your name little boy?
Ginta: I'm Ginta! But all you need to know is that I'm going to defeat you and nobody's going to destroy MÄR! You hear me!?
Halloween: (laughing) I just can't, can't help but laugh.

    • Babbo: How dare you speak to a gentleman as if he were a mere house pet! I'll make a pie out of your head!

    • Edward/Alan:
This is not the first anime that has "weird personality changes". There's "Birdy the Mighty" (where a boy turns into a superheroine), "Dragonball" (where a woman who goes from gentle to aggressive when she sneezes), "D.N.Angel" (where shy young boy turns into a demonic art thift when he falls in love), "Battle B Damon"(which had a boy who changes from a dumb slacker to a trigger happy maniac), and "Ranma 1/2" (which involved a boy and girl in one body and would change back and forth).
