peg and al realize how little they know each other, and or like each other. they see a marriage counselor, and things only get worse. at the end of the episode they split up, seemingly for good.

kelly wants a part in a boxing movie, but so does a rival. so Bud trains her and her and her rival fight. Who ends up winning?

A good episode, I like the cliffhanger and I like how Peg and Al actually break up, because it was obviously new to the show and I think it worked for this episode. Overall grade- an A+moreless

    • Al: A present for your mother. We had a fight last night.
Kelly: So what? You guys fight all the time.
Al: Not like this. You know how when you pass our bedroom and hear sobbing? Well, last night it wasn't me.
Kelly: I wish I could help, Daddy. But I only know how to break up marriages.

    • Marcy: Okay, who's up for some Passion?
Al: If she takes her clothes off, I'm outta here.
Marcy: It's a party game, you idiot.
Peg: It tests how much you know about the person you love most.
Al: Sounds fun. Come on, Griff, we're a team.

    • Bud: Come on, you fight like a girl.
      Kelly: You pee like one.
Bud: That was a temporary medical condition.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The episode title is an allusion to the 1962 Neil Sedaka song, Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, which has been covered several times by other artists throughout the years.

    • When Griff walks into the Bundy house, he greets Al by going "Hey, hey hey hey".

This was the greeting that Dwayne use to give on "What's Happening!!"

      *********

Later on, during the game of Passion, Griff's date's answer was J.J. Walker, and she goes "Dynnoooomite!!"
This was what Jimmy Walter use to say in "Good Times"
