This is the first episode where you find out that Marcy hates Al. This is also the first episode that you see Al and Peg talk about their sex life and the first you see them in their bedroom. Steve recommends that Al go on the diet with Peg that way they both can go on it and off it together. Even though he doesnt want to he goes on the diet with Peg and their life's are hell through the week than Al and Peggy start fighting with once another after Peg sings a song Al hates and peg wins the fight Al tells peggy that he has something she might want, Peggy thinks its sex but its really food. At the end of the episode you find out that Al really loves Peg but doesnt want to touch her.

  • Marcy gives Peggy a book that will turn the Bundy's life into diet hell.

    8.0
This episode functions to help develop the character of Marcy Rhoades for the next episodes. In the pilot we discovered her feministic side, but in this episode we discover how much she hates Al Bundy, which will eventually turn into an important part of the bad luck that Al Bundy has to suffer. The Peggy Bundy character is far from being the couch potato she will turn later. She cooks in this episode!!! There is a strange scene that needs to be cherished by Married with Children fans everywhere, Peg cooks food and all the family sits at the table to sit, pretending to be a normal family. The show is yet to keep better.

after talking to marcy about a diet peg decides to go on th diet to help her in the bedroom with al. al at first dosent agree to the diet but decides to support peg in her diet and they both become miserable in the process. at the end of the episode al tells peg he loves her and would do nothing to change her. no typical of al when in later episodes he puts her down and will never kiss her. also peg cooks and cleans in this episode where in later episodes there is no food but toaster leavins.
  • The Thinnergy diet is gastly, but Peggy thinks it'll get her some action from a healthier Al, so they all have to suffer the tasteless muck

    9.0
In a typical girls vs boys theme, Marcy gets Peggy to put the family onto a gastly 'health food' diet, but the Bundys being used to burgers, fries and bon-bons don't really appreciate the effort.

In fact - they totally hate it! Peggy won't give in - she's got something to prove, even if it means the whole family must suffer or starve, so Al has to briefly give in to the diet so that they can mutually agree to ditch the muck!

This episode has shades of the Jim Jupiter episode where Peggy takes the fittest man in Chicago and kills him with her daily diet of junk food.
