Martha Puts Out the Lights: Martha and the other dogs are always afraid of the Saturday night fireworks displays that occur every summer, and Mrs. Dempson, who doesn't like them either, is circulating a petition to ban fireworks. Martha joins in to try to get enough signatures on the petition to make summer less scary for dogs. But Helen and her friends are disappointed about the fireworks ban, and Martha has regrets about having helped Mrs. Dempson. Martha tries to find a way to reverse the ban and let the kids have fun again without ruining the dogs' sensitive hearing.moreless
