    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Ruri claims that there is now a "love septagon" onboard the Nadesico, but the actual name for a seven-sided shape is a heptagon.

    • QUOTES (11)

      • Aqua: Doesn't the ocean make you feel so happy, darling?
        Munetake: I'm definitely not happy!

      • Akito: Leave me alone! Can't you see that I'm the tragic protagonist?
        Seiya: Lucky bastard.
Akatsuki: They say that one man's misery can be another one's paradise. At least we can savour his suffering.
Jun: Well, I still envy him.

      • Yurika: You ate that crazy girl's cooking, didn't you?
Megumi: If you ate hers, you ought to be able to at least try mine.
Akito: Please, I just want to live.
Ryoko: Um, Akito, I just thought I'd try my hand at cooking as well.

      • Aqua: Ever since I was a chid, I've been given everything I ever wanted, everything except the one thing I wanted most- misery! I love to experience true sadness, to be a tragic heroine!
        Yurika: A tragic-
        Megumi: Heroine?
Aqua: Being too happy was the cause of my unhappiness, but in dying with my lover I shall experience true anguish.

      • Aqua: At long last my dream will come true! I shall be consumed in the flames of battle, perishing with my one true love!
Akito: Uh, are you sure you're feeling all right, Aqua?

      • Aqua: Oh, I'm so excited! Maybe we're all going to die now- wouldn't that be so romantic?

      • Erina: Has anyone seen the captain? You don't suppose she drowned, do you?
Jun: Come to think of it, Akito and Megumi are missing too. Now wait just a darned second-
Hikaru: Well there's nothing to be worried about with those three, unless it's very continental.

      • Yurika: Just what in the heck was in that stamina juice?
Megumi: Erm, milk, water, vinegar, Tabasco sauce, cod liver oil, brewer's yeast, oatmeal, powdered mushrooms and a couple of different energy drinks as a base.

      • (Yurika fantasises about Akito eating a banquet she cooked for him.)
Akito: It was perfect. Only one thing might taste more wonderful.
Yurika: I'm willing to cook anything you want, Akito.
Akito: That one thing- is the taste of your sweet lips.
        Yurika: Oh Akito…
(The fantasy dissolves into the smoke of Yurika's burnt food.)

      • Munetake: Why doesn't anyone come to the bridge to listen to my brilliant orders? What's going on here?
Inez: Well, at a wild guess, it might be because it's 2 am. That's the middle of the night, in case you didn't know, sir. Everybody who has any sense is probably asleep.

      • Ruri: And what began as a love triangle is now a septagon by my count. It's really getting hopeless.

    • NOTES (2)

      • Gekigangar episode 33 is called "The Smile of Holy Maiden Aquamarine". In typical anime fashion the plot revolves around an enemy who loses her memory and falls for one of the good guys, only to make a noble sacrifice for her love at the end.

      • Ruri says idiots once in this episode.
