  • A fine way to start a show.

    9.0
This is the first episode of the series. It was a fine start of the series. We got to know the main characters. But I still think that they should have gone a bit more into the characters.Like it was like 'here is a character, you'll find out about them in other episodes'.At least we got to meet the 5 main characters. And we got to see how they deal with monsters in the series. In this case it was the Boogeyman.Martin is serious on missions but a goofball outside them.Diana is always serious.Java is just the same.We learned that about them at least.I think the ending was totally unfair to Diana. It was like she was about to win but of course the creators made her lose. And wouldn't the paper count as dirt?C'mon,be a bit more fair!I rate this a 9/10.moreless

    • The guy in the library who the father of the little girl goes to looks like Alfredo Castelli, creator of Martin Mystere' comics.

    • Known As: Attack Of The Boogeyman

    • Java's Crush
Ever notice how Java acts around Diana? In this episode, whenever she reaches into his shirt to get the book, Java blushes and giggles. Whenever something happens to Diana, when she goes back to normal, "Java likes Diana better this way!". ...Just something to think about...

    • First aired on Fox Box in the US May 8, 2004.

    • This episode reran on YTV on October 22 '03 instead of the fourth episode airing. Seems a bit early in the series for reruns.

    • Rather than carry an array of gadgets Martin only has one, the U-Watch. It displays digital icons on its screen and by selecting one that item appears from the watch. The watch also provides The Legendex, a link to Center's Legend database which has records of every legendary monster ever recorded. It can also translate all known ancient languages. In every episode the Legendex is accessed at some point. Martin's most often used gadget choice from the Q-Watch in these early episodes is the Slime Analyzer. If the watch can actually tell the time is never mentioned. Martin is the only member of the team to have one of these watches so they must be reserved for team leaders.
