Episode Recap

During another OR session, Hawkeye, Trapper, and Father Mulcahy play 'Name That Tune.' Frank objects and yells at them and Henry yells at Frank. Then Radar comes in to tell Henry that he is being discharged. Everyone in the OR is happy for him. Later, Henry offers Radar a drink, but he refuses. Henry then has Radar arrange for a call home. He can't do it then because his wife is not home. He then thinks about the first night back with his wife, telling Radar all about her body, and Radar then decides he wants that drink.

In Margaret's tent, she and Frank prepare for him to take command of the camp. When he doubts his leadership, she gives him a gift, a pair of colonel's bars. Later, Henry tells his wife about his discharge while Radar, Hawkeye, and Trapper watch in his office. He also talks to his daughter. When the call is cut off, he says 'Sweet Lo-rraine!' and Radar whispers to Hawkeye, 'She has a fantastic body!' Later, Radar helps Henry get his things out of his office. Radar gives henry a key chain and fob made out of a Winchester rifle cartridge. Henry gives Radar his father's thermometer, though Radar does not like it when he finds out it is not an oral one. Then Hawkeye, Trapper, and Radar have a party for Henry at Rosie's Bar. They get very drunk and reminisce about good times. When Henry leaves to go to the bathroom, the others set up a special ceremony. Hawkeye and Trapper drum Henry out of the Army while Radar leads a pair of Korean girls in humming 'America The Beautiful.' Then they give him a brand new suit that they had made for him in Seoul.

The next morning, Frank has everyone fall in for Henry's departure. He stops Radar when he plays the wrong song and yells at Hawkeye and Trapper for not shaving. Henry comes out in his new suit and everyone cheers. He goes to shake Hawkeye's and he says, 'I'm afraid just a handshake won't do it, Henry,' and kisses him on both cheeks. Henry goes down the line, thanks Trapper for the suit, gets a blessing from Mulcahy, and sees Klinger in a special tropical outfit he made just for the occasion. But, he was in such a hurry, he didn't get the back zipped. Henry does it for him and he reminds Henry, 'Up, sir.' Then he gives Henry a picture of him in his pink evening gown, Henry's favorite. As Henry leaves, Hawkeye whispers something to him. He asks if he should and Hawkeye says, 'Why not?' Then Henry walks over to Margaret, grabs her and kisses her passionately. Everyone cheers except Frank, who blows his whistle, and Radar, who blows his bugle. Then he says, 'It's all yours, Frank,' and goes up to the chopper pad.

Everyone follows, singing 'For He's A Jolly Good Fellow.' Henry's chopper has a patient on it, and instinctively he checks him out, but Hawkeye and Trapper pull him away. As Henry is about to get in, he spots Radar saluting him. Henry goes over, returns the salute, says, 'You behave yourself, or I'm gonna come back and kick your butt,' and embraces him. Then he gets back in the chopper, it takes off, and everyone watches it go. Later, however, in OR, a stunned Radar walks in without a mask. He reads a message that says that Henry's plane was shot down over the sea of Japan. It spun in and there were no survivors. He leaves and the whole operating room is stunned. Everyone stops except for a orderly walking through, and Hawkeye, Trapper, and Klinger, who keep working on their patient. Hawkeye and Trapper look up, and their eyes are full of tears. Later, the P.A. announces a farewell to Henry and scenes of his best moments are shown.
