  • Hawkeye, Margaret and Klinger go on a dangerous mission to a front line aid station.

This is one of the first episodes where Hawkeye and Margaret actually seem to get along. Usually he thinks she's too rigidly military and she thinks he's a disgrace to the Army. When they go to the aid station, they work very well together. She gets frightened of snipers during the night, and Hawkeye tries to comfort her by offering part of his blanket. Then on the way back to the 4077th, Hawkeye tells Margaret she is his "favorite officer in the whole US Army" and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She seems very touched by this. It's not like they suddenly resolve all their differences, but it's an important step. I also think we see a more serious side of Klinger in this episode. Hawkeye makes him put pressure on a bleeding artery with his fingers and Klinger gets the most repulsed look on his face and says, "Damn Stalin, Truman, whoever." Maybe he does silly things to try to get out of the Army, but it's understandable when you see his reaction to blood.
