Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • When the doctors suggest Radar gives the horse to a farmer and he objects, Radar walks to the left with the camera panning one step behind him, revealing the film crew and the horse wrangler in the background.

    • When Hawkeye and BJ are giving medical treatment to the horse, the horse breaks through the wall. When it does this you can see that it breaks one leg and in slow motion you can briefly see the hand of a stage hand pushing the legs through the wall.

    • They probably should have aired this ep. right after "Change of Command". In episodes between that one and this one, Radar seems pretty comfortable around Potter.

    • Goof: In this episode Radar gives Col. Potter a horse. In this episode the horse is referred to in the masculine gender. Later the horse was given the name of Sophie and said to be a female.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Potter: Enjoyed the sermon Sunday.
Mulcahy: Oh, yes. "Do unto thy brother". You know, you can't miss if you've got good material.

    • Radar: I spent fifteen summers with my aunt. Always came home with 'hyperaciditity.'

    • Radar: Col. Blake used to let me keep pets. He let me keep Black Beauty.
Hawkeye: Black Beauty was a hamster!
      BJ: Potter's not Blake.
      Radar: He'll never even know.
BJ: The man's ex-cavalry. If he spots four flies having a meeting, he knows they're talking about a horse.

    • Hawkeye: You ever lasso anything?
BJ: My little sister. Owed me a nickel.

    • (Frank is upset that Radar has come in the Swamp)
Frank: Suppose I'd been engaged in some top secret, hush-hush, confidential activity, huh?
Radar: Oh, I peeked first to see if Maj. Houlihan was here, sir.

    • (Radar brings the horse into the office)
      Potter: (stunned) Oh, my!
Radar: It's a horse, sir. (hands Potter the bridle) Here's the keys.
Potter: (looking over the horse, breaking up) A beautiful horse! I don't know what to say, Radar.
Frank: (to Cho) I want my money back! In American, and not that stuff I paid you!
      Margaret: Shh!
Potter: He can't be more than four years old!
      Hawkeye: Pretty nice, Radar.
Radar: At least I get to take care of him.
Potter: This calls for a drink!
      BJ: At least!
      (Potter slips behind the horse)
      Radar: Sorry about that, sir!
      Frank: That's disgusting!
Potter: Son, to me that's a tiptoe through the tulips!
(Hawkeye and B. J. erupt in laughter)
      Radar: (patting horse) Good boy!

  • NOTES (3)
