Henry could have pressed charges against Margaret for getting drunk when he needed her in O.R. After everything she and Frank have done to him, why didn't he?
Hot Lips was drunk at the time, so that may explain her talking about her "dead" father. Or maybe she did a Frasier Crane! :-)
When Hawkeye and Trapper are dipping Margaret in the shower, notice Trapper's shirt is wet on his belly and shoulders, exactly where Margaret hugs him, but before she hugs him! This is definitely not the first take of the scene.
(Hawkeye gives Margaret a shot)
Margaret: Ow! What was that?
Hawkeye: Load of B1. To get you on your feet again.
Margaret: And I didn't get you anything.
Margaret (to Radar): I wonder if I could see Col. Blake?
Radar: I wonder if you can too?
Margaret (to Henry): I'm not so think as you drunk I am.
Trapper: Margaret, I want you to know how much last night meant to me. I just want to know that you weren't playing games.
Hwakeye: He's not kidding. I saw him carve your name into a patient.
Trapper: To think, all those years of taking showers by myself.
Frank: Now hold on!
Hawkeye: Watch it Trap. He has a scalpel hidden in his sock.
Frank: I do not!
Hawkeye: How do you talk so well with no lips?
Margaret (to Hawkeye and Trapper): Oh, go salute yourselves!
Henry (about Margaret's departure): We will keep this between us.
Radar (over PA): Attention! Major Margaret Houlihan will be leaving the 4077th M*A*S*H effective immediately. There will be wine served with dinner and ice cream with chocolate sauce.
Margaret (following Hawkeye's "toast"): I too have a toast. Here's to Captains Pierce and McIntyre. To their all-night binges. To their secret nurse ceremonies. To their planting of microphones in sleeping bags. To their childish switching of names on latrines. All of which goes into my special report to General Mitchell, which culminates in a detailed account of your Thanksgiving 'Come As Your Favourite Nude Pilgrim' party.
Linda Bloodworth and Mary Kay Place received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.
Stock footage can be seen in this episode. It involves the bottle of AB- blood breaking when it hit the floor, from episode 27, "Radar's Report."
This episode marks the first time that Margaret begins to evaluate her relationship with Frank.
This was the first of 5 episodes written or co-written by Linda Bloodworth. Kellye Nakahara appeared as a recurring character, Nurse Kellye, in 50 episodes, between episodes 54 and the finale. However, she also appeared in 5 other episodes, as various nurses, this being the first. The other 4 episodes were numbers 44, 60, 64 and 77.
