If Radar was a 2nd Lt. his bar would be gold, but if you look closely, his bar is silver, which means he is really a 1st Lt. ............

  • TRIVIA (2)

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Radar: (talking about his promotion) It just come right outta the blue!
Hawkeye: Nah, the way you've been lifting that barge, toting that bale.
BJ: Not getting drunk and landing in jail.
      Hawkeye: Had to happen.
BJ: It was in the cards.

    • (to Hawkeye and BJ guarantee Radar that they can arrange his demotion)
Radar: Gee, how can I ever thank you?
Hawkeye: Well, you can give us your firstborn.
BJ: And an order of fries.
Hawkeye: You know any fast girls?
BJ: You know any slow ones?

    • Frank: I don't understand this. A short, near-sighted, undeducated, lower-class clerk makes lieutenant?
Hawkeye: That's Frank's way of saying congratulations.
      Radar: Oh, thank you, Sir.

    • Klinger: I'm G.I. all the way. I go by the book!
      Radar: Wearing dresses?
Klinger: But always in the best taste!

    • Radar: (talking about Klinger) He made a choker out of my typewriter ribbon!

    • (Radar shows Klinger around the office)
Radar: First there's the radio. See this switch here? That turns on the power. See the little red light?
      Klinger: Cute.
Radar: Okay, now I just want to review for a second. What's this little red light mean?
      Klinger: Tinkerbell's alive?

    • Potter: (talking about Radar) My horse can bugle better than him!

  • NOTES (3)

    • Alan Rafkin received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series.

    • This can almost be seen as a preview of things to come as Radar trains Klinger for the company clerk position. Of course, Klinger became the new clerk for the 4077 when Radar left.

    • Col. Potter notes someone he knew was a plumber one day, then put in charge of the Panama Canal the next. This was a similar note from Harry Morgan's free-lance appearance in the episode 'The General Flipped At Dawn', where his character, Gen. Steele, stated his brother was the first person to become sick (bitten by a mosquito) at the Panama Canal.
