Epsiode spolied by Trapper patient dying and Trapper doesnt even punch his fist in anger..
  • Great episode we meet Sidney. hawkeye really falls for a girl and Jon Van Ark was destined to be a star. Radar tells the story

    9.9
One of the best episodes. We first meet Sidney Freedman (called milton in this episode) and he comes to see Klinger and tells him as long as you sign as a transvestite and a homosexual you can get a Section 8. Klinger say NO. Hawkeye Falls for Joan Van Ark and who wouldn't wow she was gorgeous back then. We also see a painful side to the war when a Communist soldier who is injured ends up getting a scalpel and cutting a few people but worse than that he ruins the only blood a American soldier needs to possibly survive. The North Korean breaks that bottle in the OR. Trapper thinks about some bad things when he is later alone with the N Korean. A+ episodemoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Trapper's patient in this episode has AB- blood. It is established in the episode that the prisoner destroyed the last unit. In a previous episode it stated that Frank had AB- blood. Why wouldn't Hawkeye and Trapper find some way to get Frank to donate blood? Or at least try to get some AB- blood from somewhere else?

    • Although he is called Milton in this episode, it is the first of 12 appearances by Allan Arbus as the psychiatrist, Sidney Freedman.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • (Hawkeye and Erika kiss)
Hawkeye: (breaking the kiss) What am I doing? What am I doing? What am I-what am I doing?!
Erika: Whatever it is, I approve.
Hawkeye: You're married, madam. You're a married madam! Why don't I go away?
Erika: Hawkeye, I am not married!
Hawkeye: What, do you mean your finger's just turning gold?
Erika: It's my grandmother's. It cuts down on wrestling matches.
      Hawkeye: You're not married?
      Erika: Never have been.
Hawkeye: Move over, Lieutenant. (gets in bed with Erika and kisses her)

    • Freedman: Read this. Sign it, you'll have your wish.
      Klinger: What does it say?
Freedman: It says I've examined you and found you to be a transvestite and a homosexual. For all I know, you may also have post-nasal drip.
Klinger: I ain't any of those.
Freedman: You ain't Errol Flynn, either.
Klinger: Where do you come off calling me that?
Freedman: I think I got the idea from your cleavage. Now this will be on your record permanently. From here on you go through life on high heels. Sign it.
Klinger: The hell I will! I'm just crazy. All I want is a Section 8. You know what you can do with this! (turns to leave)
Freedman: Hey, soldier? (Klinger turns around) You forgot your purse.

    • (Klinger is brought in to see Maj. Freedman)
Freedman: (after Klinger enters) You got me up here to ask me about him? About that?
Henry: Yeah, well, you see, it really wasn't my idea.
Freedman: All the way from Seoul to ask me what? Whether he needs a girdle under that? Whether his seams are straight?

    • (Klinger comes into Henry's office)
Henry: Okay, he's here. Let's have it. What's wrong with Klinger?
Frank: What's wrong with Klinger? A soldier stands in your office in an evening gown and you ask what's wrong?
Henry: I'll admit, he's no Lana Turner.

    • Hawkeye: Great little war we have here.
Radar: I could do without it.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Hawkeye: I have total faith in you, Dr. Hackenbush.

Dr. Hackenbush was played by Groucho Marx in one of his movies - he wasn't a real doctor.
