  • An excellent follow up to the Tuttle episode!

This episode follows the same kind of format as the last episode. Hawkeye, Trapper, and Radar fooling everyone.

A wounded Colonel comes in with the attitude that his mens lives a not as important as the goal that needs to be achieved. So hes willing to sacrifice as many lives as possible for the good of the army. (Exactly the kind of guy Hawkeye hates.) There are episodes like this throughout the entire series where Hawkeye doesn't see eye to eye with someone in command's methods.

Many clever pranks are pulled, but the funniest parts are when the colonel (played very well by Leslie Nielson) thinks that both Margaret and Frank are coming on to him!moreless

Here's the first of several episodes in which Hawkeye (et al) scheme to get a reckless line officer relieved of his command. A classic of the early, pre-PC M*A*S*H, we have special guest star Leslie Nielsen as Col. Buzz Brighton, who arrives at the 4077th after receiving a minor wound. He's introduced to a 'gay' Frank Burns, a nymphomaniacal Hot Lips and a besotted Henry. His tent is always on the move and Brighton soon becomes a blithering idiot. Fine ensemble performance in the last scene. Hot Lips is never hotter than in this episode, in a sweater and cutoffs. Good dialogue and incidental music. Overall, one of the top-ten episodes.
