  • Burn, baby, burn

While the people of the 4077th treat others very well, sometimes they need to treat themselves, which is what happens in War of Nerves. When Sidney Freedman winds up one of the wounded, he helps the camp treat its case of overwork with a bonfire while treating the more sensitive cases, like Margaret and Charles being obsessed with each other, Klinger thinking he just may be crazy, and Radar's wondering if he's crazy for carrying a teddy bear. The soldier Sidney was treating winds up wounded and angry at him, so not everyone winds up healed. Eventually, the camp comes together to watch the fire burn and relax. When M*A*S*H tries not to be preachy on its anti-war message, the excellence of the writers and actors shine through. War of Nerves is a good example.moreless
