"On a distant and embattled planet called Edenoi, a young prince named Dex is given great powers by his grandfather, the king, and is sent to the planet Earth to protect it from the advancing evil of Count Dregon and his vicious Insectivores. Once on Earth, he is adopted by a kind family and learns to live as a human. With his companion Ferbus by his side, Dex is ever vigilant. Ready at a moment's notice to call on his powers to become Masked Rider." Saban's Masked Rider was the second official "companion series" to the Power Rangers franchise. It was also the only true spin-off from that series, getting its start in a trilogy of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers episodes from its third season. Though the series was initially a ratings success, a quick decline, coupled with poor toy sales, mixed with show star T.J. Roberts choosing not to renew his contract past the intial 40 episode order, led to a quick death to the show. It originally aired on Saturday mornings on the Fox Kids block of the Fox network, from its inception until about September 1996, when it moved to the Saban Entertainment Syndicated block (recently vacated by Saban's VR Troopers). It aired Mondays to Fridays on various local stations around the country, continuing to do so until about September 1997. It has not aired in the USA since then, though still runs in other countries, notably the United Kingdom. Much of the production crew, right down to the company of Bugboy Productions, immediately went to work on Saban's Big Bad Beetleborgs. Saban's Masked Rider was adapted from the 1988 Japanese series by Toei, known as "Kamen Raidaa Burakku Aru Ekkusu" (Masked Rider Black RX). Though, a few episodes used footage and monsters from the 1993 direct-to-video movie "Kamen Raidaa Zetto Oo" (Masked Rider ZO) and the 1994 direct-to-video movie "Kamen Raidaa Jei" (Masked Rider J). The only original creatures on the series not to come from those programs were the Maggots and Ferbus, who were all designed by Chiodo Bros. Productions, Inc. The US props for Chopper and Magno were designed by Barris Kustom Industries, best known for work on other shows (such as the Batmobile for the 1966 Batman series). Saban's Masked Rider was produced by Renaissance-Atlantic Films. A co-production of Toei Company, LTD. and Bugboy Productions, Inc. And was copyrighted by Saban Entertainment, Inc. and Saban International, N.V. (now owned by Disney and known as BVS Entertainment, Inc.)moreless

The show is about Dex who comes to earth to fight the evil forces of Count Dregon, while on earth Dex is taken in by the Stewarts and learns how to act like a human.

Masked Rider was a childhood favorite of mine, I like the masked rider's appearance on power rangers, in season 3 when he though Jason and Tommy where enimes, great action scene.

I don't remember much about the Masked rider, since it has been awhile since I've seen it, but i really miss the show and wish it lasted longer.

Overall: A great show that accomplished something most spin-offs fail to do.moreless
