A good start to the series. I didn't expect this episode to be the strongest of the season from the previews, but I was quite wrong.

I'm looking forward to next week.

Agreed, nice beginning to the series. I am hoping for more sci-fi elements in future episode though. This episode was more of a psycological thriller.

I DVRed the show since it comes on way past me bed time.

I watched it this morning. It was very "Anolog-esque", and I enjoyed it immensly. Trouble is, did I miss the last couple minutes of the show? Did the episode end with the doctor telling the patient he was the president? Was that the punch line?

If it was, it was pretty weak. And I'm ok with that. Often times, short stories are unrealized novels for that very reason. I love reading these kind of stories in Analog and Asimov magazines.

    That was NOT the end.

    That was NOT the end.

Thanks for filling in the gap for me. I will have to tweak my DVR settings for the next episode.

Yes, she did not have much to lose since family was dead and she had inoperable cancer.

I kind of liked it, it's a bit like Outer Limits. Probably isn't the best ep of the season. Next episode looks very interesting though.

    *SPOILER*

I thought the the two leads gave gripping performances, but the punchline of the story left much to be desired.

I mean, is it really that important that the president remembers his debacle? The story came off as a grand tribute to crying over spilled milk.

P.S. How do you make the expandable spoiler link?

Excellent description of this episode -- on the bright side, future episodes are almost certain to be better.

I saw it as more of a revenge play by the doctor throughout the episode. It seemed by the end that the only reason she wanted him to remember who he was and what had happened was so she could punish him again by shooting herself in front of him causing more psychological damage than he already had, thus starting the whole thing over again. They threw in the references to today and what could become of us with the nutball Bush at our helm and all that, but I saw that as more of moral time filler to the actual story.

I thought they just wanted him to confess before they killed him, and have it on tape, but they bring him back again after. So, is it supposed to be some sort of torture punishment? Making him live it forever?
