  • The Other Woman

I thought it was a terrific episode. It Virginia was at the center of almost every story, but that's to be expected. She has now become the other woman in Bill's life. Libby is still thinking that Bill's work is the other woman, and Virginia had to "teach" Bill how to have a sexual relationship without getting caught by his wife. She is still the other woman in Ethan's new romance, though she doesn't know it. And while she may have found Bill a replacement secretary now that she has been promoted, she is still the woman he would prefer in that position as well. pun intended.

Misses Scully is now the other woman in her own marriage, though not because he is with a woman, she is under the impression he is though. And she is the newest other woman in Dr Gilpatrick;s life.. Though that may not last since he may be experiencing more performance issues.

All in all a cute rate show. And it seems that the writers aren't worried about getting Masters and Johnson together. I guess they have enough details of how their lives came together that they don't have to worry about letting all of the good parts out too early.

Great show, great performances. The end shot of Virginia looking at herself in the mirror after Bill turned her down for a quick dinner was a perfect end scene.moreless
  • Developing Nicely

    9.0
Whilst not an emotional powerhouse like last week's episode, I felt this was a good continuation and is building nicely into a satisfying watch. Liked the guest appearance of Anna Freud, anyone interested in her family and their massive impact on modern western society should consider watching Adam Curtis' documentary series called Century of the Self. Between her father, herself and another family member called Edward De Bernays (I think I got the spelling right) they completely revolutionised the way people think about themselves and their place in the world. Also a standout for me was Allison Janney's performance. She is one of those actresses who is always a joy to watch, even in Mom, in which she plays a character who is the polar opposite of Margaret Scully and singlehandedly saves that show from mediocrity every week.moreless
