    • A black comedy, "Divine Intervention/Ahu Mai Hohonu" is the most light-hearted episode of the Mataku series, but Terei says that doesn't mean it's light-weight.

"I think it is necessary to have that light-heartedness - Mataku is an intense series and I think episodes like this stop it from being too dark," he says. "And it is important to know that for Maori, humour is often used to defuse very serious situations."
