Mataku Season 2 Episode 7

Writer Brad Haami says the story is based on an experience he had at an auction in Wellington.

"I remember going along to an auction where a lot of sacred Maori objects were going under the hammer," he says. "There were many Maori there trying to buy back the objects to take them back to their rightful place within their tribes. I thought this would make an interesting basis for a contemporary Maori drama."
