Match Game PM

Show Summary

Match Game PM was the weekly nighttime syndicated version of Match Game 73-79, that aired on Saturday nights in prime-time. It was very similar to the daytime version, except there were no returning champions. In the first season of Match Game PM (1975), the contestants played 2 rounds, and whomever had the most matches won, and played the bonus round which could pay up to $10,000. Producers found that there was alot of free time at the end of each episode in season 1, so at the beginning of the 2nd season (1976), it was changed to 3 rounds. When the star wheel was introduced in Mid 1978, the Match Game PM contestants had the chance to win up to $20,000 if they landed on the stars that were on the wheel. Although the daily Match Game went off CBS in 1979, for a few months, new episodes of Match Game PM would still air on Saturday nights. As far as we know, all episodes still exist, as most of them have aired on GSN (still do).moreless
