Nancy Stafford, a year away from joining the regular cast, appears this week as a hooker who plays a crucial role in the case against Ben's client. Other than that neat bit of trivia, "The Seduction" is an instantly forgettable episode.
It's a wasted opportunity - the set-up is a good one. The over-the-hill football star and lothario accused of killing his lover and team owner never elicits audience sympathy, and saddling Charlene with a backstory motive for hating him feels just as forced and tacked on as any of her dalliances with male clients.
The solution is a cheat this week. Aside from some funny business between Andy Griffith and a foul-mouthed parrot, this one can be left alone.
