  • The First of the Get Matlock Episodes

Ned Billings takes Michelle,Julie, and Tyler hostage. His purpose is to wait for Ben Matlock to enter ,and then kill him.He claims that Matlock was responsible for his brother James Billings death(a suicide by hanging). He went to see his brother in a prison cell.James Billings had claimed innocence in a plan to frame Professor Tate,by murdering an innocent Man(he deliberatly hit this man with his car). But Tyler knows better. He had helped Matlock prove that Billings, and two others were part of a plot to frame the Professor.Reason:Billings wanted revenge on the Professor whom he blamed for the death of his,and Neds father. The Professor had been Matlocks College Professor, and as such,Ned felt that Matlock was partly to blame for James Billings death. However,Michelle proves this is wrong, when she shows Ned a letter James Billings wrote after the trial, and sent it to Matlocks Office. It detailed how he,and the two accomplices had framed the Professor.Reading the letter,Ned Billing is convinced. The letter is in his brothers handwriting. He surrenders the gun that he was going to use to kill Matlock. And,just in time,as Matlock enters his Office.Close call for Matlock.moreless
