Max & Ruby is one of the few children's shows I don't mind watching over and over. No annoying and grating voices or songs... cute stories, and lots of focus on the intricacies of sibling relationships. Cute. Even better when watched with the matching Rosemary Wells' book. For example, "Max's Dragon Shirt" takes on a whole new life! My 3 year old still loves watching Max & Ruby... while other shows have come and gone.

I HATE THIS SHOW. It is another abomination that Nick Jr. has put on the tv. It, Dora, Diego, Lazytown and others need to be baroed and for ever.

My daughter and I both like the show but the only thing I don't like is that Ruby is always telling Max not to do something, where are the parents, they should be telling him what he can and cannot do. Another problem I have is that they play the same episode so much. The one where Max is playing with his firetruck and it keeps running into where Ruby is jumping rope with her friend. I swear I have seen that episode four times already this week

This is a good show. Its sorta funny sometimes how theynevershow thierparents and how ruby acts like she's the mother.

I was wondering the same thing. I looked up the episode guide. The show had one season. It was on from Sept 2002 to Feb 2003. I'm surprised Noggin has kept it in the lineup for several years now rerunning the same 26 episodes! Every 5 weeks they've recycled the entire production.

Well, although Max & Ruby is not the best show, It's not as repetitive as other lame Nick Jr. shows like Dora and Backyardigans. But I do think that Ruby is selfish and that she and her stepbrother Max (I'm assuming they're a stepbrother and stepsister) could both use some parental help.

And now a quote if Max and Ruby had parental help:

Ruby: Max, you can't keep my toys. We're selling them.

    Max: Waah!

Parents: Young Lady! Haven't you ever heard of hand-me-downs? We'll give these toys to Max, and you can find something else to sell.

It's a really cute show, and very dramatic! But that Max drives me crazy -_- He always disobeys his sister (who's playing the role of his babysitter), and it always works out for him. That's not really a good message for kids, especially kids who have their older siblings babysitting them a lot.

Maybe Max wouldn't be so annoying if Ruby just started thinking of someone other than herself. Ruby is so selfish to Max, and I think they both could use some parental help.

Yes, I do like this show. It's infinitely better than...*shudder* Dora and Diego. I wish they'd stop bombarding us with those. But anyway, I watch Max and Ruby on Noggin as well as Wow Wow Wubbzy and Miss Spider. I don't like it NEARLY as much as those two, but it's adorable. What I like best about it is the backdrops. Very cozy and cute. ^^

Not bad, I have to admit. There are just three problems I find.

    1. The parents are never around.
    2. Ruby can be a little bossy.
    3. Max does not listen.

Besides that,it is pretty good. Ruby is pretty much like a mother to Max and she takes care of him.

I am not into thar many little kid shows, but I can't see why so many people hate it.

My son LOVES Max and Ruby! I think the best thing about this show is that they are just being kids. It's basically like they are living a suburban existence. No drama, just playing. I want my son to be a kid for as long as he can. And shows like this one make it so much easier for me to turn it on and walk out of the room, knowing that he is going to be fine watching this alone.
