A large company wants to buy the rights to Emmett's old invention.

Sam hires a city planner to survey the town of Mayberry to help attract industry and improve its image. The planner turns out to be an attractive woman, and this catches the attention of Goober and the others - especially being that Millie is out of town for the week.

Millie purchases an egg farm and finds it to be very hard work.

Howard becomes to host of a local literary television program and becomes attached to an anonymous girl named Melissa whom Goober and Emmett created.

Sam's involvement with Mike's school project goes overboard when he gets into a dispute with another boy's father.

The men make a bicycle club without telling Emmett. When Emmett finds out about it from Millie, he's determined to show them that he can still shine at his age.

Alice buys a harp, and gets lessons. Her teacher makes her very nervous and she almost gives up on the instrument.

Goober, Howard, and Emmett paint Sam's house against his wishes.

Goober housesits at a rich man's house, and falls in love with a rich girl, only to find out the only reason the girl's mother likes him is because she thinks he's rich.

Howard's sister sends her son, Spud, to Howard with the hope that he can straighten Spud out and send him on the right path.

After trying for four years to reverse his hair loss, Emmett's barber suggests getting a toupee.

The community puts on a pageant to benefit the church. After convincing Mike that it's his duty to perform in the pageant, Sam is roped into performing, as well.

With Aunt Bee staying with her sister, Sam brings in his cousin, a recently retired army sergeant, as his new housekeeper. She has a little trouble adjusting to civilian life.

Howard takes a sensitivity training class in an attempt to be less inhibited. As a result, he is a completely changed man. He wants to start his own class in Mayberry, but only Millie embraces the idea.

Martha opens a boutique, and Emmett is certain it will fail. To his surprise, she clears $243.00 in her first week.

Millie passes a secretarial course but finds that most potential employers are only hiring people with experience. She is finally hired by what she thinks is an over-the-phone magazine-selling business. However, it is actually a front for a bookmaking operation.

Goober's franchiser runs a contest in which any dealer that improves its sales by 200 percent will be awarded a trip to Hawaii. Goober meets that mark but finds out that the contest is not for the current month but for the following month.

Millie is chosen to portray the pioneer woman on Mayberry's float in a parade. However, in order to obtain the use of Clara's nephew's truck, he requests that Clara be the pioneer woman. Left with little choice, Sam agrees to let Clara play the role.

A sculptor Millie met while modeling in New York comes to visit Mayberry to get away from the city. He offers to construct a sculpture for the town, but, at the unveiling, nobody can figure out what it is.

Despite not being the outdoors type, Millie joins Sam, Howard, and Howard's friend, Barbara, on a camping trip.

Goober's brother comes to Mayberry for a visit. Goober initially thinks his brother will be impressed that he owns his own service station but finds out that his brother is an aviation engineer for NASA.

After falling into a pit at Goober's station and breaking his arm, Emmett hires a talented teenager to help out in his fix-it shop. Emmett becomes worried that the kid may know more and do things better than he does.

Goober's 15-year-old niece pays him a visit. A boy she meets at the gas station wants to ask her for a date to the school dance, but Goober refuses to allow her to see him.

Howard tries to help a has-been cowboy star make a comeback.

Sam bumps into an old friend of his who is the golf pro at a local club. He kisses Millie, and she is furious that Sam just laughs it off.

The gang arrives in Palm Springs. Goober and Howard are at odds the minute they find out they'll be rooming together.

Mike really takes to Sam's new hired hand, and Sam begins to become jealous.

When Howard loses a property sale because the town doesn't have adequate law enforcement, he robs Mayberry Bank to prove that they need a full-time sheriff. Deputy sheriff Goober Pyle catches Howard and puts him in jail.

A Russian agricultural expert comes to visit Sam's farm as part of an exchange program. She seems to be an all-work-and-no-play type of person, so Millie thinks it would be a good idea if one of Sam's friends would ask the expert to an upcomming dance.

Mike's birthday party is scheduled to be on the same day as one of the girls in his class. Mike begins to worry that his friends will choose the girl's party over his because of the prizes that will be given.

After trying on a couple of outfits, the clothes' designer asks Millie to model her line for fashion magazines in New York. After only hearing from her once in two weeks, Sam decides to go to New York to check up on her.

Howard is commissioned to write a poem for a regional magazine but finds that he can't come up with anything to write about.

Sam prepares to welcome Mexican officials from its sister city to the south.

Mayberry purchases a used bell for their church, but a problem arises when the individual who donated the church's land to the town had a condition placed on the donation: the church can never have a bell during his lifetime.

With his mortgage finally paid off, Emmett decides to retire. He quickly finds that he can't find enough things to do to occupy his time.

Goober has been ordered to clean up his station and increase sales or risk losing his Acme franchise. He begins to follow the company line but no longer enjoys his work and considers packing it in.

Mike gets a job in the town's new pet shop. He feels sorry for a particular mixed-breed dog that won't sell and decides to ask Sam if he can get it for himself despite Sam already saying he couldn't have a dog.

Sam feels embarrassed because his string beans are much smaller than Millie's.

Mike and Harold have a fight over a quarter and claim their friendship is over. Howard suggests to Sam that they invite the kids to go with them on their camping trip to demonstrate to them real friendship.

Howard wants to share his coin-collecting hobby with his girlfriend and, also, wants to share her hobby. She tells him that her hobby is skydiving, so he, reluctantly, decides to give it a try.

Goober is hired as the high school's driving instructor but puts the job in jeopardy when he hits the principal's parked car.

Aunt Bee and Captain Wolford plan to get married, but Bee begins to have second thoughts after seeing a show on television about a sailor who leaves his girl to go back to the sea.

Aunt Bee goes on a Caribbean cruise and falls for the captain of the ship.

A journalism student assigned to interview Sam has a crush on him. It really begins to become a problem. He wants to straight out tell her to leave him alone, but Millie and Howard advise against it.

Millie is named Miss Farmerette, the queen of the county fair. A former Hollywood agent sees her there and thinks she could be a big movie star.

Emmett becomes depressed when he reaches his 50th birthday.

Sam gets a ticket in Mount Pilot for, allegedly, not using his signal. Bee is positive that he did use his signal and is adamant that Sam fight the ticket in court as opposed to just paying the fine.

Because Mike's been losing many of his belongings lately, Sam threatens to forbid Mike to attend an upcomming baseball game if he loses one more thing.

After five consecutive years of declining profits, it is decided that Clara should be replaced as producer of the church play. Millie agrees to take over the production, but Clara overhears a former colleague of Millie's ask her to return to her past profession as a chorus girl in Raleigh.

Andy convinces Sam to hire two ex-convicts to help harvest his corn crop. Bee discovers money missing that she had hidden in the cookie jar, and it is assumed that the new help is responsible.

After Andy and Helen are married, Bee is no longer needed and plans to leave Mayberry to live with her sister. Sam and Mike try to convince her to stay with them as their housekeeper.
