11/30/70Alice buys a harp, and gets lessons. Her teacher makes her very nervous and she almost gives up on the instrument.
11/23/70Goober, Howard, and Emmett paint Sam's house against his wishes.
11/16/70Millie dreams about something terrible happening to Sam and Howard on their upcomming fishing trip and begs them not to go. Howard reads up on the subject of dreams and finds that there are people that can see the future through their dreams. When Millie has another dream about Howard falling into some money, and the dream comes true, Howard seriously begins to question whether or not he and Sam should go on the trip.moreless
11/9/70Goober housesits at a rich man's house, and falls in love with a rich girl, only to find out the only reason the girl's mother likes him is because she thinks he's rich.
11/2/70Howard's sister sends her son, Spud, to Howard with the hope that he can straighten Spud out and send him on the right path.
10/26/70Great news comes from the Mt. Pilot Press: Millie is declared the best dressed woman. Everyone is very happy about this. Millie buys into the idea that she's a trend-setter and begins wearing clothes she wouldn't normally wear. Soon, the other women in Mayberry start copying Millie's styles and clothing she wears. The men strongly object, and Sam must tell Millie to stop. That night, the woman from whom she has been getting her fashions pays a visit to Mayberry and is in completly different clothes. Millie discovers that it is best to wear what she likes to wear - not what she thinks she should.moreless
10/19/70After trying for four years to reverse his hair loss, Emmett's barber suggests getting a toupee.
10/12/70The community puts on a pageant to benefit the church. After convincing Mike that it's his duty to perform in the pageant, Sam is roped into performing, as well.
10/5/70With Aunt Bee staying with her sister, Sam brings in his cousin, a recently retired army sergeant, as his new housekeeper. She has a little trouble adjusting to civilian life.
9/28/70Goober finally opens his new gas station in Mayberry. Everything is fine until Howard discovers some old dinosaur bones under the station. He is eager to recover them, but doing so would require tearing up parts of the road around the gas station - a move that Goober will not allow. Howard wants to open a museum with these bones and wants to get all of them, so he sneaks to the gas station in the middle of the night. Goober catches Howard in the act and almost presses charges. Howard opens the first natural science museum ever in Mayberry, but it's a bust because most of the bones from the dinosaur are still buried. After seeing how upset Howard is, Goober agrees to allow the rest of the bones to be recovered.moreless
9/21/70Howard takes a sensitivity training class in an attempt to be less inhibited. As a result, he is a completely changed man. He wants to start his own class in Mayberry, but only Millie embraces the idea.
9/14/70Martha opens a boutique, and Emmett is certain it will fail. To his surprise, she clears $243.00 in her first week.
