As a fan of \'Night Court\', the only role I had ever seen John Larroquette in, I thought I would have a difficult time accepting someone who I saw as a skilled womanizer in the role of a cool investigator, the only similarity being that both are lawyers.
Happily, I was wrong.
Larroquette is fun to watch in his role as an attorney whose job is to get a hitchhiker out of trouble -- someone who was just there at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The story of the pilot is sensational -- a woman who has more than one identity, and has managed to fool more than enough people. There is just no end to the twists and turns in this episode, and keeps you guessing until the very end.
Granted, it\'s not as good as, say, Diagnosis Murder at its finest, but if the pilot is any indication, the \'McBride\' series is going to be a show with future episodes to look forward to.moreless
